The International Radio Festival (IRF) is pleased to confirm that the 9th edition will take place in Valetta, Malta – the European City of Culture 2018 – from 29th October to 4th November.

IRF Malta Days: 29 October – 30 October
IRF International Days: 31 October – 4 November

Now in its 9th year, the Zurich-born and Swiss-managed international broadcasting event represents the first and only conference to debate and showcase the business, production and curation of the world’s most consumed medium – audio/radio content.

The IRF’s unique conference format presents industry leaders from the world of broadcasting and audio production, and features more than 25 international radio stations broadcasting their programmes live-on-air to their peers and home audiences, reaching over 100 million listeners around the globe.

IRF Festival Director Darryl von Däniken says:

“We are delighted to be heading towards music-island Malta, producing the 9th edition of the IRF in Valletta, this year’s EU Capital City of Culture, which is more than apt as the IRF represents the world’s leading broadcasting cultural exchange showcasing ’radio’ nationalities such as India, UK, Austria, Russia, Turkey, Tunisia and China.”

“The IRF is an incredible meeting of minds, where industry leaders including Paul Smith from BBC, Absolute Radios Paul Sylvester, Xanthe Fuller from MIxcloud and Scott Cohen from The Orchard come together for knowledge sharing, networking, and forming both analogue and digital audio strategies for the future.”

Broadcasting their programmes live on air during the event will be Bay Radio, Vibe FM, XFM and Magic FM from the host country Malta and international radio shows from; BBC Radio 1 (UK) Jazz FM (UK), MiSoul UK), Fun Kids Radio (UK), United DJ’s with Tony Prince (UK) , Hits Radio (UK), Hoxton FM (UK), Flex FM (UK), M20 (IT), Teenage Radio Immaginari (IT), 102FM (IL), Kasheme – Lounge (CH), LikeFM (RU), Radyo 2 -TRT FM (TU), Sonica (ES), Kronenhit Radio (AT) IFM (TU), The Big Time (USA), Sound of India Radio Contest (IN), Kiss FM (AU), Love Radio (CN) plus Mixcloud ‘Best Online Radio Station’ award winner Dublin Digital Radio (IE).
