Quotes from past delegates:
“It’s great to see the conference grow reaching new levels of quality at the same time. We were successful in tackling environmental protection and other important aspects of sustainability. We are particularly happy about the active contributions of our participants that certainly will lead to many new developments in the future. The feedback we got so far is enthusiastic but there is still much space for further improvements. That’s what we are looking forward to at the 3rd GreenEvents Europe Conference in november 2012” said Holger Jan Schmidt, – together with Sabine Funk – owner and manager of “BN*PD – Bonn Promotion Department” the agency promoting GreenEvents Europe.

“This year’s Green Events Europe conference has put the music industry’s green efforts at the heart of the move to a sustainable future. With an amazing collection of high profile and expert speakers and panellists, and informed delegates from across Europe, Green Events Europe offered real practical advice on moving to a lower carbon future. Climate change is effecting all of us, and the live events industry is not immune to this – we have already had two serious weather related tragedies in 2011 in the USA and Belgium, and we now all need to work together to adopt environmentally friendly practices. Green Events Europe was the place to learn and exchange ideas on green events in 2011.!” Ben Challis,Co-founder, AGREENERFESTIVAL

“I was delighted to be part of this second Green Events Conference which is now becoming an annual event for the Events and Festival Industry. This year we have seen an increased number of suppliers attending as well as festival organisers and environmental managers . This is great news showing that the wider events industry is keen to develop knowledge and share best practise with us. I am already looking forward to next year’s conference.” Teresa Moore, Bucks New University and Co founder of GO Group (Green Operations Europe).

”It’s a positive signal that the Green Events Conference in Bonn was able to grew in its 2nd year. The involvement of the GO Group was very constructive and the feedbacks from participants. Of the 2-day-seminar were really good. It was a major step forward for sustainable events.” Christof Huber, General Secretary Yourope

“What an amazing experience this year’s Green Events Europe was. In can see clearly a green festival community developing here: all the big festivals from all over Europe gathered to talk with each other (instead of: about each other). Mutual respect and a clear objective to exchange ideas to inspire each set the tone in Bonn. Without any competition everybody was actively pushing the Green Agenda. Nice one, Sabine and Holger! Jacob Bilabel, Founder Green Music Initative and member of GO Group (Green Operations Europe)

“Even though Roskilde Festival has worked with environmental issues for many years, we’re aware that we can be even more sustainable. Sharing best practice with others gives us an opportunity to discuss and develop. As a festival, we have the possibility to influence 130.000 audiences to take green footsteps in the right direction – to keep doing that we must remember to look around and listen to the great ideas of others. At Green Events the focus is on the solutions, not the problems – which makes it very inspiring.” Marie á Rogvi, Project Manager, Development Department, Roskilde Festival

“It was fantastic to see Green Events Europe demonstrating leadership and bringing together the European event industry to discuss key topics surrounding event sustainability.
Event practitioners were able to share best practice and learn from each others? experiences as well as learn about new industry initiatives including ISO 20121 and GRI reporting. I’m already looking forward to next years conference!” Rebecca Saunders, Sustainable Events Ltd., UK

“In the Green Events Conference all participants have access to the state of the art on environmental issues related with festivals.” Artur Mendes, Centralmanagement Boom Festival (Portugal)
