Eastern European artists get a helping hand with the CEETEP program, developed by Eurosonic Noorderslag together with Sziget Festival and Exit Festival
The three CEETEP acts who will be playing at Eurosonic Noorderslag 2013 are Grimus (RO), Instrumenti (LV) and Pipes and Pints (CZ). They earned this place by playing the most CEETEP shows at the 15 CEETEP festivals. The CEETEP program started in 2012 and 19 acts were booked for a total of 27 shows in 10 countries. This is a promising start for the CEETEP program and participating bands.
What’s CEETEP?
The Central Eastern European Talent Exchange Program was developed by Eurosonic Noorderslag together with Sziget Festival and Exit Festival to stimulate the international exchange of Central Eastern European acts and music. By working together, the organizers and a great team of festivals and partners help the best new Central Eastern European acts perform across borders at the best festivals within Central Eastern Europe. The selected CEETEP media make sure the bands get media coverage. The acts who play most CEETEP festival shows get an invitation to play a showcase at Eurosonic Noorderslag as a gateway to the whole of Europe and beyond. CEETEP is a sub-program of ETEP, the European Talent Exchange Program.

What’s ETEP?
ETEP (European Talent Exchange Program) was introduced in 2003 to facilitate one of the main goals of Eurosonic Noorderslag, the exchange and support of new European music in Europe. Each year ETEP brings together the leading European festivals, radio and other media at Eurosonic Noorderslag and encourages them to ‘exchange’ a selection of artists. Since the start of the ETEP program in 2003 a total of 1359 shows by 459 European artists were presented at the 60 ETEP festivals (2003 – 2011). The current figures for ETEP in 2012 are 259 confirmed shows by 95 European artists from 20 different countries, a new record in the ETEP history!
