Wednesday Jan 14th:

Iceland Erupts Full Program:
Iceland Music Export [IMX] has confirmed full details of the Iceland Erupts focus country schedule for 2015’s Eurosonic Noorderslag – with Kevin Cole, Senior Programme Director at KEXP and Einar Örn Benediktsson co-founder of The Sugarcubes heading up panel discussions on the Iceland Airwaves music festival and evolution of the nation’s music scene.

The panels – Iceland Airwaves: Can A Small City Festival Transform An Entire Country? and Blue Eyed Pop: A Short History Of Icelandic Music Since The 1980s – take place at De Oosterpoort on Thursday January 15th (15:00-16:00) and Friday January 16th (15:00-16:00) respectively.

Other speakers will include Grímur Atlason (manager of Iceland Airwaves), Anna Hildur (head of NOMEX), Ragnheiður Elín Árnadóttir (Iceland’s Minister of Industry & Commerce), Dagur B. Eggertsson (Mayor of Reykjavik City), Thomas Morr (founder of Morr Music), Dr Gunni (author) and Margret Magnúsdóttir of the band Vök. The panels will be moderated by Gordon Masson, editor of IQ Magazine, and Jan Sneum, Director of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation DR.

IMX will also hold a networking reception at Stadsschouwburg on January 15th from 17.30-19.30 in conjunction with STEF, the Performing Rights Society of Iceland – hosted by the Icelandic Minister of Culture, Mr. Illugi Gunnarsson and featuring a performance by hotly-tipped newcomer Júníus Meyvant. Meanwhile, a pop-up Icelandic market and record store will be situated at FTTB [Oosterstraat 48-52] while delegates can meet with Iceland’s music community at the Oosterpoort’s B5 Lounge on both Thursday (10.00–16.00) and Friday (10.00-17.00).
