Cultural Activities

“Silesia: We Talk Here”
“Silesia: We Talk Here” is a place where you can hear about local community initiatives and projects that are transforming the region. You’ll learn the stories of its inhabitants and find out how to work with others to benefit your local community.
Adventurous visitors can look forward to exciting trips, including excursions to the Tychy Brewery Museum, the GUIDO Historic Coal Mine in Zabrze, and the Culture Zone in Katowice. These places are excellent examples of the spirit of the region, which has taken advantage of the massive promotional potential that lies in its strong industrial roots, creating new attractions that draw tourists from across the country and all over Europe.

The tour of the Tychy Brewery Museum will be held August 6, while the trip to the GUIDO Historic Coal Mine in Zabrze will take place August 7. Participants must purchase their own tickets to each attraction (Tychy Brewery Museum: 15 PLN, GUIDO Coal Mine: 29 PLN). A guide and round-trip transportation will be provided free of charge.

Note: Only OFF Festival participants with a festival wristband can attend the tours. Prior online registration is required.

Walking tours of Katowice
As in past years, the city of Katowice invites festival guests to join its guided walking tours. This time they’ve prepared two interesting walks, take a look below!

Modernism Tour
A walk through the centre of Katowice. We’ll be exploring the city’s modernist architecture of the 1920s and 30s. Participants will see one of Europe’s first skyscrapers, Poland’s largest cathedral, and the places in which the history of Katowice began.

Culture Zone
Built in the last few years on the spot of a defunct coal mine, the newest part of the city features four impressive buildings that are the pride of Katowice. The walk will take you through rooms that have the best acoustics in the world, the inside of a spaceship, and even a shoebox.

Join us on Saturday, August 6, at 12:00 noon (both walks) and Sunday, August 7 (walk nr. 1).
Duration of both walks: two hours
Meeting point: Katowice Main Square, in front of the Tourist Information Center
Sign-up: trip@katowice.eu. Please provide your first and last name, the date, and the walk you’d like to attend.

Space is limited so RSVP quickly to avoid disappointment.
