G&C_youropeRGB_URLNot only one of the coolest music festivals, OFF is good to the environment too.

OFF are proud to announce they have received the international Green’n’Clean Award, officially making OFF Festival an environmentally-friendly one. The event organisers are glad to see that their years of efforts to combine fun with working for a just cause have been noticed.

Music festivals take an enormous toll on the environment. Noise, tremendous water and electricity consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, traffic, garbage — all of these are the side effects of just a few days of fun at an event this size.

Luckily, thanks to concerted efforts (after all, the success of this project rests as much on the audience as it does on the organizers), OFF have managed to minimize their impact on the environment for several years now. The OFF Festival runs on renewable energy; they sort the garbage, and serve food and drinks in biodegradable containers. In short: OFF spare no efforts to make the OFF Festival live up to its ambitions as an environmentally-conscious event. The Green’n’Clean Award is a cause for celebration, but it also motivates us to keep working for the cause.
