The Amsterdam Dance Event today reveals some of the first confirmed keynote speakers and panels of ADE’s extensive 2016 daytime program.

Anthony Saleh in keynote Q&A on 21st century management
Named as part of Billboard’s 30 Under 30 list in 2011 and Forbes’ 30 Under 30 In Music: Class of 2015, Anthony Saleh’s accomplishments as the CEO of artist management firm Emagen Entertainment Group are exemplary. “Succeeding in the music business is much more about pivoting on the fly, rather than having an air-tight plan,” the Emagen Entertainment Group CEO, and managing partner at VCap Investment Group, told Forbes.

In his keynote appearance at ADE, Saleh will be expanding on the value of a philosophy of adaptability and spontaneity, discussing the changing role of managers in the digital era, and explaining the value of keeping your roster small. LA-born Saleh is also currently actively diversifying his portfolio in the tech world as an investor and partner through the VCap Investment Group, a company that also includes the rapper Nas. Date, time and venue for Saleh’s keynote to be announced.

COO of Red Light Management Bruce Eskowitz to keynote at ADE
ADE is delighted to announce the presence of another US management heavyweight in the form of Bruce Eskowitz. Eskowitz, who is also COO of New Era and Green Light Media, joined Red Light Media in 2009 after holding numerous positions at Live Nation and its previous companies, including Clear Channel Entertainment, SFX and Pace Entertainment. In addition to overseeing all of RLM’s management activities, Eskowitz manages an impressive lineup of artists, including Lionel Richie, Giorgio Moroder, Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten, New World Punx, Deep Dish, Leona Lewis, Mat Franco and Herbie Hancock.

At ADE, Eskowitz will be examining all areas of modern management, discussing best practice in overseeing venues, touring, merchandise and sponsorship, as well as how to build long lasting relationships with major brands such as American Express, Budweiser, and Ford. Alongside that, he will be discussing how he sees the future role of the manager as the music industry becomes ever more dependent on revenue from streaming, sponsorship and merchandising. Date, time and venue for Eskowitz’s keynote to be announced.

30 years of Cooking Vinyl with Martin Goldschmidt
ADE is honoured to welcome another true innovator of the global independent scene, Martin Goldschmidt, Managing Director of the global indie label Cooking Vinyl. 30 years ago as a young music fan and aspiring manager with little working knowledge of the music industry, Martin Goldschmidt formed a label with distribution manager Pete Lawrence, called it Cooking Vinyl, and started releasing records. These days Cooking Vinyl is a genuinely global player with offices in the US and Australia, and a reputation as one of Europe’s prime artist-focused independent labels, inspiring an enviable loyalty among its artist roster. It is also in the vanguard of music companies offering innovative services-only deals that claim no stake in artists’ copyrights.

Artists signed to Cooking Vinyl include Marilyn Manson, Billy Bragg, Röyksopp, Madness, James, Gary Numan, Amanda Palmer, The Pretty Reckless, Groove Armada, The Cult, and The Prodigy. “I am a very lucky person, being able to get paid for spending time working on my hobby for 30 years,” Goldschmidt said. “And I’m looking forward to sharing what I’ve learnt along the way at Amsterdam Dance Event.”

Panel topics also revealed today include:

Best and Worst of being a label
Taking a light-hearted but serious look at the realities of running a label in 2016 and beyond, Best and Worst of Being A Label in the 21st Century features representatives of some of the most enduring label brands of the last 20 years, including Chris Goss of Hospital Records, Eelko van Kooten of Spinnin’ Records and Kompakt’s Jon Berry. In a separate keynote interview Armada founder Maykel Piron will be looking back at what went right and wrong over the company’s first 12 and a half years, as well as looking forward to the challenges of the next decade.

Taking streaming mainstream
Taking Streaming Mainstream features reps from all the big streaming services looking at where streaming is headed, and attempting to answer the big questions such as how streaming can maximise audience growth in emerging, untapped and mature markets.

What do artists do all day?
What Do Artists Do All Day? puts the complex daily routine of the modern artist under the microscope. In an era where an artist often runs a label, deals with creative agencies, does their own social media and much more – what does that actually mean in terms of their routine, the conflicts and synergies between their different commitments, and how does it affect the team of people they work with?
