During London Climate Action Week 2026, A Greener Future (AGF) is uniting London’s sustainability leaders to highlight the city’s pioneering role in driving green innovation and best practice within live events. AGF is the not-for-profit organisation championing sustainability across the live events sector worldwide, for twenty years.

Working across some of the city’s most iconic festivals and venues, which have achieved AGF Certification, including ABBA Voyage, American Express present BST Hyde Park, The O2 and OVO Arena Wembley – AGF are at the forefront of London’s greener live future, working hard behind the scenes to make it measurable and scalable.

“Real change is already happening across London’s live sector, supporting the City’s ambition to become a leading destination for green events. London Climate Action Week is a good moment to spotlight how London venues and festivals are reducing their impacts and boosting their environments. To the backdrop of another heatwave across the UK, we hope this will inspire others to take action” says AGF Founder and CEO Claire O’Neill.

AGF’s ‘A Greener Live London’ highlights how London’s live sector is leading the way when it comes to being a greener city for events, why climate action is important to these iconic places, and what they’re doing to protect our environment.

The series covers varied topics including plastic pollution prevention, renewable energy, biodiversity and urban gardens, low emission travel, artists requesting plant based menus, and accessibility.

OVO Arena Wembley’s senior technical manager Tom Miller said the venue’s climate commitments are no longer just about principle – they’re about survival in an increasingly regulated industry. “As a venue, we are committed to operating as sustainably as possible, with environmental impact factored into our decision-making at every stage. It’s something we’re not only passionate about as a venue team, but we recognise the importance of this as an industry, too. Taking climate action now strengthens our reputation and aligns us with industry standards, and ensures we remain competitive as regulations and expectations evolve”

Sam Booth, Sustainability Director at AEG International, made clear that sustainability for a venue like The O2 is no longer optional – it’s a business imperative. “Our fans want to come and experience a music gig without any guilt associated with it,” Booth said. But it isn’t just audiences pushing for change. Artists, brand partners, and staff – many of them young and values-driven – are all asking harder questions about the environmental credentials of the venues they work with or support.
