EXIT Festival premieres Nina Kraviz and Amelie Lens sets to celebrate the Serbian New Year on 14th and 15th January
The world premiere of unforgettable sets of Nina Kraviz and Amelie Lens from the grand closing of the Dance Arena in 2018 and 2019, and the VR party set up in cooperation with one of Germany's clubs Bootshaus with the performance of house DJ duo andhim, are all part of the exclusive program of the holiday special's finale "EXIT TO 2021”.
After the New Year's Eve broadcast of some of the best performances in the history of the festival's Main Stage - courtesy of The Cure, The Prodigy, and many others, along with David Guetta's special midnight set - it's time for audiences around the world to experience world exclusives from the world renowned mts Dance Arena.
Celebrating the Serbian New Year on Thursday, January 14 and Friday, January 15, will be the two legendary closing Arena performances of Nina Kraviz and Amelie Lens, which have not been broadcast until now, presented on EXIT's Facebook and Youtube channels. On Saturday, January 16, the audience will have the opportunity to experience an innovative new form of VR parties, in which EXIT, in cooperation with Bootshaus club and the innovative Sansar platform, will bring a virtual live performance by house masters andhim.
NINA KRAVIZ — Thursday, 14th of January, 8:21 pm CET
After closing the festival a year earlier and contributing to EXIT's Best European Festival title in 2017, Nina Kraviz returned to her second home in July 2018. She once again had the honour of playing the last set of the festival. On that summer morning, a crowded Dance Arena breathed as one during a multi-hour set, at the end of which in the atmosphere experienced only at stadium rock concerts cheering crowd chanted her name and lead to an encore featuring the cult-favorite track "Ghetto Kraviz." An official video of this exceptional performance will be shown to the public for the first time on Thursday, the 14th of January at 8:21 pm CET, announcing Nina's new arrival at the Petrovaradin Fortress to celebrate the EXIT festival's 20th birthday.
AMELIE LENS — Friday, 15th of January 8:21 pm CET
Amelie Lens' performance at the Dance Arena in 2019 is remembered as one of the best closing scenes in the festival's history. This techno diva, inspired by the connection between The Prodigy and EXIT, played "Firestarter" at the very end of a flawless set, in honour of the deceased Keith Flint, causing euphoria in the crowd. Interesting fact is that it’s the last song played at EXIT festival until today. The world premiere of the stream will be broadcast on Friday, the 15th of January, at 8:21 pm CET.
The live streams and VODs of Nina and Amelie's sets will be available on EXIT festival's Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Celebrating European Talent
Compared to Anglo-American music, the total percentage of music originating from continental Europe is relatively small. The Music Moves Europe Talent Awards are designed to accelerate the international careers of upcoming European artists.
Music Moves Europe
Music is one of the most popular forms of art, widely consumed, and a vibrant expression of Europe's cultural diversity. Music Moves Europe, the overarching framework for the European Commission’s initiatives and actions in support of the European music sector aims to help the music sector flourish. In line with this approach, the Music Moves Europe Talent Awards, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme, the EU funding programme for the culture and audiovisual sector, wants to contribute to the creativity, diversity and competitiveness of the music sector in Europe.
Organising coalition
The Music Moves Europe Talent Awards are organised by ESNS and Reeperbahn Festival in partnership with Yourope, Independent Music Companies Association (IMPALA), International Music Managers Forum (IMMF), Liveurope, Live DMA, European Music Exporters Exchange (EMEE), Digital Music Europe (DME) and media partner European Broadcasting Union (EBU), with support from the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, Province of Groningen and the City of Groningen. The awards are implemented in close cooperation with the European Commission and financially supported by Creative Europe.
ESNS introduces European Music Week - a call to support and introduce new European talent
The first edition of the European Music Week will kick off on January 8, 2021. A campaign to celebrate European music across the world, the European Music Week will be a call to support and introduce new European talent and give artists centre stage.
In the past year, due to the current pandemic, festivals have been cancelled and venues had to close their doors and suspend events, with severe consequences for the live music industry, including the artists who were unable to take the spotlight. The European Music Week will take place from January 8 – 15 and is an initiative by ESNS (Eurosonic Noorderslag) and its partners and a lead up to the digital edition of ESNS 2021 (January 13 – 16, 2021).
Robert Meijerink, head of programme at ESNS says:
“European music has been the prime focus of ESNS for 35 years. In the past year a lot of artists missed the opportunity to play live and had a hard time to reach their potential audience. The European Music Week is a perfect way to give them the spotlight. A good opportunity to promote new talent but also to highlight the rich history of European music. Above all, It’s time to start the new year with a positive message and think and work on a new future.”
A wide range of partners across the globe will be celebrating European music and new talent in particular, sharing their content with the hashtag #europeanmusicweek.
Current partners include, amongst others; EBU stations across Europe (BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music, NPO 3FM, BNR, ARD, RAI RADIO 2, RTÉ 2FM, LRT Opus, LUERSL 100.7, SRF, RTS, RADIO BELGRADE ONE, ERR Raadio 2), but also Spotify, Deezer, KEXP, Vice, European festivals, venues and other outlets.
