Nik Vujičić and Standing Rock to address the world leaders live from EXIT Festival
One of the most influential motivational speakers in the world, Nick Vujičić, will make a speech in front of the tens of thousands of people gathered at the globally acclaimed EXIT Festival in Serbia on Thursday, July 6. Vujicic, whose speeches inspire millions of people worldwide, will address the world leaders in appeal to join efforts and preserve the planet's endengered enviroment. The whole event will be broadcasted live from the colossal Petrovaradin Fortress where EXIT festival is held for almost two decades. He will be joined by the Aaron Turgeon, representative of the Standing Rock movement, founded by remaining members of The Sioux tribe, from the reservation of the same name. The movement came into the international spotlight after they peacefully protested, blocked the works for several months, and, last winter, finally managed to stop the construction of the oil pipeline in North Dakota, which threatened to destroy the entire ecosystem on their land! The movement reached its peak when the oil company's private security attempted to violently repel the peaceful protesters, which prompted 2000 US Army veterans to create a human shield around the tribe. Immediately after that, the world witnessed a historic scene, when the veterans, in the name of their ancestors, asked for and received pardon from the tribe leaders for all the injustice against Native Americans.
Both Vujicic and Turgeon will call for world unity in a joint effort to preserve the life on Earth at the festival's openning on Main Stage. As the only still existing major festival that was founded from the peaceful protests and social activism, EXIT is marking a 50th anniversary of the original Summer of Love in 1967 when the revolutionary hippie movement changed the world standing for peace, enviroment, freedom of speech, human rights, and social, racial, and gender equality. Vujičić and Turgeon will also participate in the global panel discussion "The 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love - has the world gone astray?". It will take place on Wednesday, July 5 and their host will be Dušan Kovačević, the founder of the EXIT Festival. Via live stream, the panel will be available worldwide, and will be streamed accross numerous media globally and social networks of prominent public figures.
Nick Vujičić was born without the extremities, but he accepted his deficiency, and took up the discrimination of his peers and all the difficulties as a challenge rather than as a problem. It became his mission to talk to others about the strength of one's will and the positive attitude which can help us solve problems. Therefore, his main message is that any circumstance in which a person finds themselves can be overcome. Nick dedicated his entire life to motivational messages, became a media star and a global role model. So far, he has shared his experience with 6.5 million people in 63 countries worldwide, and he gave advice to 16 presidents and 9 governments. Nick Vujičić's books are bestsellers which are sold in millions of copies, which change lives, and performances of this motivational speaker are unforgettable experiences for everybody who had an opportunity to listen to him.
Another inspirational story is the story of hip hop artist Aaron Turgeon, better known by his stage name Prolific the Rapper. He is a representative of the Standing Rock movement and The Sioux tribe, whose life mission is to fight for their living space. They grouped in protests against Dakota Access Pipeline project in the United States of America, which envisaged laying oil pipes across the holy territories of the Native Americans and the Missouri River, their main source of drinking water. Standing Rock is not just a movement for the Sioux homeland, it represents a fight for the rights to live free and preserve the environment greedily destroyed all around the world by corporations which value profit above everything else.

KATOWICE & OFF FESTIVAL | POLAND
Katowice, is the capital of the Silesian province of Poland, is famous for its industrial past and excellent art scene. It may not be the obvious tourist destination with no castles, ancient ruins or hip bohemian districts, but what you will find is a stack of Industrial Tourism that will take you underground and through the abandoned factory floors that were once the booming heart of Poland's Industrial Revolution. The Nikiszowiec quarter offers you the best insight into this kind of architecture and history; it is listed on several heritage registers and there is a big chance it is going to join UNESCO’s World Heritage List in the future. There is a big street art movement in the city thanks to the Streets Art festival with dozens of large-scale murals, which have been created not only by local artists, but also by well-known street artists, such as American Axel Void, Australian Ian Strange (Kid Zoom), Spanish Escifa or SpY. A trip on the trail of Katowice murals is a great alternative way to see the city and its hidden treasure
OFF is a festival for the discerning music fan and the place to discover the best alternative acts from around the world. A truly unique boutique music festival, OFF Festival takes place in ‘Three Lake Valley’, Katowice – a beautiful green oasis in the heart of industrial Silesia. OFF is a way of life, one that flies in the face of current trends and stays true to itself, and the ethos of organiser Artur Rojek is firmly aimed at supporting art and music with the festival bringing many acts to Poland for the first time. OFF Festival’s reputation is growing year on year driven by the festivals forward–thinking, eclectic music policy and it’s bold and eclectic lineups. Jameszoo and Metropole Orkest to perform opening concert at Amsterdam Dance Event
This year’s Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) will open with ‘Jameszoo & Metropole Orkest – Fool’, a collaboration between Dutch DJ/producer Jameszoo and the world’s leading non-classical orchestra Metropole Orkest. The event will take place in the Melkweg on October 18. Tickets are now on sale.Following up on last year’s successful collaboration with Henrik Schwarz the Grammy-award winning Metropole Orkest returns to the Melkweg on Wednesday October 18, for an evening with Dutch artist Jameszoo. During the opening night of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), an initiative of Buma, the Metropole Orkest wants to take on the challenge to translate the ‘uninhabited computer jazz’, as Jameszoo likes to call his work, to an acoustic setting, resulting in a live experience of unique sounding experimental electronic music.
Metropole Orkest chief conductor Jules Buckley explains: "This collaboration between Jameszoo and Metropole Orkest for ADE just feels right. Jameszoo is an incredible artist, making a fresh statement right now internationally and I feel the combination of his compositions from Fool, reworked and presented uniquely with Metropole this autumn, is sure to lay down a marker or two".
Jameszoo, real name Mitchel van Dinther, adds: ''When ADE and Metropole Orkest approached me I was flattered to say the least. I'm excited to see how 'Fool' will blossom. The Metropole is a very special and dynamic Orchestra extremely capable when in mr Buckley's hands. I've never found peace in thinking the album was finished, so I’m very lucky to transform it once more.''
ADE’s opening concert takes place at Melkweg’s Rabo Hall. Tickets for ‘Jameszoo & Metropole Orkest – Fool’ are now on sale: http://www.ticketmaster.nl/event/190965?brand=nl_melkweg. The event is also accessible for ADE Pass holders.
About ADE
Since its inception in 1996, the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) has evolved into the leading business platform of the global electronic music scene. It is the place to be and spot the latest developments: from musical trends and upcoming talents to the most recent output of pioneers and superstars.
The Amsterdam Dance Event takes place from the 18th to 22nd of October, 2017.

About Jameszoo
Jameszoo, real name Mitchel van Dinther, emerged from the small town of Den Bosch in the southern Netherlands in the late 2000s. First as a DJ – with wide-ranging crates of avant-garde jazz, prog and kraut rock, electronic experiments, and beat oddities – and then as a producer capable of impressive sonic and rhythmic incongruities. Van Dinther released his debut album “Fool” in 2016 via Brainfeeder and is set to release a his second EP “Flake”. Van Dinther was rewarded for his adventurous attitude in the studio by Gilles Peterson who bestowed upon him the “John Peel Play More Jazz” Award at the Worldwide Awards 2017.
About Metropole Orkest
Since its foundation in 1945 the Metropole Orkest has reached millions of people around the world and has been honoured with many international awards, including an Oscar as well as multiple Grammy Awards. Most recently it received a Grammy for its project Sylva with Snarky Puppy.
Renowned for its wide-ranging abilities, Metropole Orkest is a non-classical orchestra that plays all styles from pop and jazz, to world music and film scores. The orchestra has had the privilege to work with great artists like Cécile McLorin Salvant, Robert Glasper Experiment, Junkie XL, Laura Mvula, Snarky Puppy, Basement Jaxx, Tori Amos and Squarepusher. The orchestra is a regular guest at (inter)national festivals like the North Sea Jazz Festival, BBC Proms, Robeco Summer Nights, Amsterdam Dance Event and Musikfest Bremen.

Electronic legend Gary Numan to appear at ADE
One of the founders of contemporary pop and electronic music joins us for an in-depth conversation with Dave Clarke.
Following up on our recent announcements about ADE LIVE and the focus on Morroco we have some very exciting news about ADE's day program. Electronic music pioneer Gary Numan will be present for a dialogue with Dave Clarke.
If you were a kid who loved electronic music in the late 70s, there really wasn't that much on offer, especially if you preferred pop to hippy prog noodling à la Tangerine Dream. Nonetheless, Jean-Michel Jarre and Kraftwerk rightly get huge credit for forging a new way of making tunes that hit the mainstream charts, but in terms of lasting impact, they are at the very least equalled by Numan.
Numan was as much a punk as he was a fan of synthesisers, a combination that created tight, insidiously memorable songs, sung by someone who sounded urgent, lost and more-than-a-little alien. His breakthrough single Are Friends Electric was followed by a string of hits including Cars, This Wreckage, and I Die:You Die. He is also widely credited with being one of the early pioneers of sampling, and more recently, releases by Armand van Helden (Koochy) and The Sugababes (Freak Like Me), that sampled Cars and Are Friends Electric respectively, bought his work to a younger audience. Numan is seen as an inspiration for a wide range of artists, including Radiohead, Foo Figthers, Nine Inch Nails, Moloko and GZA.
These days a thoroughly reinvigorated Numan tours the world and plays major festivals including Coachella and Bestival. He collaborated with Jean-Michel Jarre on Electronica 2: The Heart of Noise, and last year was presented with the Moog Innovation Award by Moog Music. “Replacing guitars with heavily effected synthesizers,” Moog Music notes, “Numan’s early work is almost single handedly responsible for introducing post-punk electronica into the popular consciousness, while propelling synth music beyond Prog Rock to inspire the wave of 80s synth pop that soon followed. 2016 also saw him being given an Ivor Novello award for his inspirational role in music.
Date, time and venue to be announced. Gary Numan will also perform at Paradiso during ADE on Saturday October 21 (accessible for ADE Pass holders).

Having won several awards and media recognition for their several studio albums and live performances, most notably their headline set at Glastonbury in 2014, the band have certainly established themselves as rock & roll royalty and with a sixth album on the way for 2017 we’re looking forward to seeing what they’ve got up their sleeves at Sziget festival.
Proud winner of the ‘Best Major European Festival’ award in 2015 and 2011, and ‘Best Festival Line Up’ in 2016, Sziget Festival is one of the biggest multicultural events of Europe.
