Four of the ten European Border Breakers Awards winners will take the stage at Eurosonic.

Four of the ten European Border Breakers Awards (EBBA Awards) winners, C2C (FR), Dope D.O.D (NL), Ewert & the Two Dragons (EE), Juan Zelada (ES), will take the stage at Eurosonic after their performance at the EBBA Awards ceremony. Eurosonic takes place from Wednesday 9 to Friday 11 January in the city center of Groningen.

The European Border Breakers Awards

The EBBA Awards are handed out by the European Commission to ten European artists who have proven to be successful in crossing borders with their first international release in Europe. The other six winners are: Nabiha  (DK), French  Films (FI), Emeli  Sandé (UK), Of  Monsters and Men (IS), Amor Electro (PTl) and Niki and the Dove (SW).

Vote for favourite winner and win trip to EBBA Awards ceremony

Until December 21, 2012 the European public can vote for their favourite EBBA Awards winner. The EBBA Awards winner with most votes will win the Public `Choice Award. By voting, European music fans have the chance to win a trip to the EBBA Awards ceremony to see many of the winning acts perform. The public are invited to vote online: www.ebba-awards.eu

EBBA Awards ceremony

The EBBA Award winners will receive their awards in a televised ceremony hosted by TV personality and musician Jools Holland at Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen, The Netherlands, on 9 January 2013. The award ceremony – including performances from many of the winning acts – is recorded and broadcast by Dutch National Television (NTR) and will also receive European coverage through TV channels and radio stations associated with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and others.
