Exclusive show by The Soundtrack Of Our Lives confirmed for Berlin Festival 2012 plus new additions Simian Mobile Disco, Mostly Robot, When Saints Go Machine, Kid Simius and more.

With less than two months to go before the Berlin Festival takes off at Tempelhof Airport from 7th to 8th September, the line-up continues to grow to epic proportions. The eighth edition is set to be the biggest and best yet with an impressive string of new artists joining an ever-expanding bill that already includes Grimes, Sigur Rós, Franz Ferdinand, Orbital, Little Dragon, Friendly Fires, The Killers, Metronomy, Clock Opera, Miike Snow, SBTRKT, Nicolas Jaar and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.

Swedish psychedelic rock band The Soundtrack Of Our Lives, fronted by Ebbot Lundberg, will play an exclusive live show at Tempelhof, performing songs from their final album ‘Throw It To The Universe’ before they split up and say goodbye for good. New Zealand’s Kimbra will also take to the stage before the Berlin Festival crowd to perform hits from her debut album ‘Vows’. The singer-songwriter is best known for providing the lyrics for Gotye’s mega hit ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’, which topped the charts in over 10 countries worldwide.

Then as dark descents across Tempelhof, the nighttime programme continues at Club Xberg, where electro label !K7 will celebrate 27 years of label history with a !K7 Anniversary Special. Hercules & Love Affair Soundsystem, When Saints Go Machine and Brandt Brauer Frick will join the anniversary party at Glashaus with further acts still to be announced. In addition to the music, the anniversary will be accompanied by a !K7 exhibition at the festival’s Art Village at Tempelhof Airport.

The Native Instrument project Mostly Robot, a cast jam experiment, are also scheduled to perform at Club Xberg. Jamie Lidell, Tim Exile, Jeremy Ellis, Mr Jimmy and DJ Shiftee celebrated their stage premiere at this year’s Sónar Festival in Barcelona showing off their innovative live show, synced only by the human element, with no MIDI clock or sync grid to obstruct their creativity. Their pioneering electronic endeavours will continue at Berlin Festival, where they will join forces with visual artists from Berlin’s design collective Pfadfinderei to create a totally unique interplay between technology, personality and performance.

Also at Club Xberg…Simian Mobile Disco will perform songs off their recently released album Unpatterns, Kid Simius will lure the crowds with one of his acclaimed DJ sets and with Return Of The Amazons feat. Chicks On Speed & Maral Salmassi yet another fantastic collaboration awaits all festivalgoers this year.
