Mysteryland

The only tickets still available for Mysteryland − the world’s longest running electronic festival of music, culture and art − are for this coming Sunday. Tickets for Saturday are sold out. Tomorrow, for the first time since its inception in 1993, a multi-day edition of the festival kicks off on the former Floriade terrain in Haarlemmermeer. According to the forecasts, it promises to be sunny and warm edition. In collaboration with the Amsterdam label Delsin Records and Amsterdam nightclub Studio 80, Mysteryland releases an exclusive vinyl sampler in celebration of the first ever 2-day event.

Only Sunday tickets left for Mysteryland
Tickets for Sunday are available at tickets.mysteryland.nl. On this day, world stars such as Martin Garrix, Knife Party, Deep Dish, Steve Angello, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Dubfire, Hercules & Love Affair, Jeff Mills, Pan-Pot, Agoria, San Proper, DJ Haus, Interstellar Funk and Joris Voorn will perform at the festival’s twenty-one stages. The complete line-up can be found at www.mysteryland.nl.

Martijn van Daalen, General Manager, explains Mysteryland’s expansion: “In recent years, our visitors told us they needed more time to experience everything. Now, they can finally go on two days of ‘adventure’ and have more time to discover all the artists, bizarre acts, installations and performances.”

Mysteryland isn’t just been about the music. The extensive arts and cultural program has become just as important. This year, the “Art path”, or Kunstpad will be created in cooperation with Cultuur & Ondernemen. Here, six promising artists will present their interactive installations based on the theme ‘serenity’. There also promises to be plenty of light art, including an enormous light installation below the pyramid, made by WERC Collective, which includes two hundred moving elements, video mapping on the water, a lot of LEDs and 8 kilometres of cable. This year, Mysteryland will also collaborate with the Tropenmuseum who will produce the Tropenmuseum’s Body Art exhibition, where festival visitors can get tattooed. Plus the Healing Garden will offer ample opportunity to indulge your spiritual side, experience inspiring talks from the likes of American life artist and producer Tommie and enjoy an exquisite dinner at Vork and Mes, crafted by top chef Jonathan Karpathios.

Mysteryland releases vinyl sampler together with Delsin Records and Studio 80
In collaboration with the Amsterdam label Delsin Records and Amsterdam nightclub Studio 80, Mysteryland releases an exclusive vinyl sampler. The artists that will be spinning vinyl on the 29th and 30th of August at the festival’s Vinyl Only stage are put in the spotlight with this release. Delta Funktionen, STERAC, DJ Haus and Max Abysmal have all produced exclusive tracks for this vinyl sampler. The EP is a collector’s item and therefore will not be for sale. True vinyl freaks may acquire a copy via different contests featured on the labels’ and Mysteryland’s socials.

Thijs van de Wijngaert (project manager Delsin Records): ‘Nowadays vinyl does not get played in clubs anymore, due to the outdated hardware and instable dj booths. With the Vinyl Only stage, Mysteryland has put its focus solely on vinyl, which is why we loved to participate. We were very excited when Mysteryland told us about the idea of releasing a vinyl sampler, because the core of our label Delsin Records is to release vinyls. It’s a nice way to show our daily work to a bigger audience.’

The sampler features a spectrum of artists and a broad variety of styles; from stripped tool techno by STERAC, to jacking house form DJ Haus and Max Abysmal’s warm electronica. Graphic Surgery, an artist collective who also made the design of the containers that actually form the Vinyl Only stage, designed the artwork of the sampler. Van de Wijngaert: ‘There’s a lot to keep in mind when releasing a sampler: the composition, the artwork, production and finally the presentation. This release contains all these aspects. Tracks from artists that are playing, artwork that matches the stage design and a collaboration between Studio 80 and Mysteryland.’
