Croatia’s founding festival is back as The Garden Festival reaches 8th season

The Garden Festival reaches its 8th anniversary in July 2013, returning for the 2nd year to its beautiful new home in Tisno. It’s safe to say no-one really expected last year to be the truly sublime experience for all that it was; upping sticks to pastures new represented a huge challenge for TGF’s team, who not only found a suitable location but one which quickly put Petrcane in the shade. Nestled right on the rugged Dalmatian coastline with its own bay of glittering Adriatic waters, the site has a truly festival feel whilst retaining the intimacy for which it is loved across the world. As well as the twice daily Argonaughty boat parties and the breathtaking fully open air Barbarellas discotheque, the on-site Shikar tents and apartments, more bars and food, lots of things to see and do in the beautiful region and the idyllic town of Tisno itself all captured everyone’s imagination in a truly inspiring new way. And of course don’t forget the music, either, which saw Nicolas Jaar, Crazy P, Yesking and 2020 Soundsystem rocking the main stage, plus Garden debuts for Kenny Dope, Solomun, Tiger and Woods, Prosumer, Tim Sweeney and many more.

Nick Colgan, one of The Garden Festival’s founders, says that, “We are so happy with the way this summer worked out, not just for The Garden but all of the other events on site too. It proved just how good the new site is, and also how much potential it carries. That’s why we’re calling 2013 ‘The Next Step,’ taking things forward that bit more, keeping things familiar but also enriching and refining everything. The overwhelmingly great feedback we have received has made us realise again that this is all about the people who always come first and foremost, and making everyone’s experience as enjoyable as possible is our main aim. We will be adding a few new elements to the site too, which will be revealed soon.”

The first wave of live acts and DJs will be announced in January. Argonaughty boat and Barbarellas club partners so far joining The Garden are a stellar mix from Resident Advisor, Beats In Space, Wolf Music, Louche, The Pool, Faith, We Love, Berlin’s much lauded Wilde Renate crew, Claremont 56, Tief, Leftfoot and Futureboogie, with more to be confirmed.

The Garden Zadar bar reaches its tenth anniversary on Fri 24th and Sat 25th May, with nine further special dates through the summer in the city. Perched aloft on Zadar’s old city walls, the spectacular venue was the precursor to The Garden Festival itself, which Nick and Charlotte Colgan launched back in 2004. For anyone coming to any of the Tisno festivals, a visit here under the cooling sea breezes with a cocktail or two in hand is essential.

And over in Brighton, The Garden House Party is returning for its annual NYE session at The Brunswick. Starring Psychemagik, Ron Basejam (Crazy P DJ Set), Futureboogie, Dean ‘Sunshine’ Smith and Bobby Beige, this is a true house party, and the venue will be decorated as a house, including sofas, furniture and of course ducks on the walls! The Garden Festival and Electric Elephant are also proud to announce their second double whammy collaboration, with tickets available from the website. Following on straight after The Garden, EE offers 5 days of amazing music under the sun and stars, with the first round of guests to be announced shortly. The Garden Festival runs from 03 – 10 July 2013 and EE runs from 11 – 15 July 2013.

Tisno is situated between Zadar and Split airports, with lots of flights from Europe to each. Keep checking for deals to Croatia from the UK – and Europe too – on airlines including Ryanair, Easyjet, Jet2, Wizz Air, German Wings and Croatia Airlines, as fares have now been released and there are some bargains to be had.
