ADE announces first confirmed artists
Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the world's largest festival and business conference for electronic music, today announced the first selection of artists for 2019. Among them are Amelie Lens (BE), Carl Cox (GB), DJ Nobu (JP), Helena Hauff (DE), Identified Patient (NL), Jeff Mills (US), Martin Garrix (NL), Nastia (UA), New Order (GB), Sevn Alias (NL), SOPHIE (GB), Tchami (FR), The Black Madonna (US) and Tiësto (NL). The organisers expect to welcome 400,000 visitors for the 24th edition.
The five day and night gathering runs from October
16th-20th, 2019 and is the world’s most extensive festival and conference
program for electronic music, offering a broad range of art, film, photography,
alongside music and the latest trends in technology and social good.
Alongside the popularity of the night and day program from
national and international visitors, the organisers see growing interest in the
conference ADE Sound Lab, the daytime cultural activities and the live electronic
music and sustainability focuses in both the festival and conference program.
ADE 2018 featured more than 2,500 artists and 600 speakers
in 200 locations. In previous communications, ADE’s organisers announced France
will be the 2019 Focus Country, that the opening concert will feature SOHN
& Metropole Orkest, and that ADE LIVE and ADE Green will return to this
year’s program.
The latest announced keynote speakers include Interaction
designer and media artist Christopher Bauder, Group Vice President of Tencent
Music Entertainment Andy Ng and head of AEG Studios Raymond Roker. They join the already announced Amazon Chief
Technology Officer Dr. Werner Vogels and Lisa Ellis, Soundcloud’s global head
of music and artist relations amongst others.

Heavy riffs and countless hits: Rock Spectacle at EXIT Festival Headlined by The Cure!
Between July 4 and 7, EXIT Festival’s home at the Petrovaradin Fortress will be rocked by heavy guitar riffs and energetic vocals headlined by rock giants The Cure! They will, among others, be joined by the most striking rock’n’roll band of today, Greta Van Fleet, the iconic Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo with his new band The Illegals, as well as the diva of symphonic metal, Tarja Turunen!
The news that a serious rock crew is gathering at Serbia’s EXIT Festival
delighted all fans of heavy sound, ready to conquer the Petrovaradin fortress
from July 4 to 7. A true spectacle is
being prepared for this year’s EXIT, headlined by one of the greatest bands in
the history of music, The Cure, for whom this year is particularly important,
as they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in March. They
started their tour at the Sydney Opera House, celebrating along 40 impressive
years on the international scene, while EXIT made it on the tour list due to
the personal insistence of the band! Greta
Van Fleet or the saviors of Rock and Roll, as they are hailed by the media,
are bringing old-school rock into fashion again – and they are also bringing their
numerous hits from their debut album straight to EXIT Festival. The album itself
achieved a massive feat – it made it to the top of the American music chart!
Also arriving to the fortress is Phil Anselmo, the famous frontman of
Pantera, known worldwide one of the biggest metal bands of all times. Along with
him, his new band The Illegals is arriving to EXIT, with a special performance
consisting solely of Pantera songs. Another former singer of a legendary band,
Nightwish’s Tarja
Turunen, will face the crowd of
EXIT Festival with her powerful operatic voice at Addiko Fusion Stage.
The massive army of guitars at this year’s EXIT will further be reinforced by the iconic English band 65daysofstatic as a supporting act for The Cure, the giants of the Swedish melodic death scene Soilwork, famous British punkers Peter and the Test Tube Babies, Swedish metal pioneers Entombed A.D. and ska legends The Selecter. The explosion of guitars will be further led by one of the leading deathcore performers in the world Whitechapel, giants of Norwegian music scene Arcturus, fearless street punk/Oi! band from London Booze & Glory, Californian hardcore punks Total Chaos and German and worldwide legends of the dark wave industrial scene Das Ich! In charge of a mean gig will also be Enforcer, one of the most powerful heavy speed metal bands from Sweden, as well as one of the most acclaimed metal names of this unique scene, the Swedish October Tide, Dutch hardcore band Vitamin X and English punk band Grade 2, while straight out of the frozen hell of Russia we can expect the crossover band Siberian Meat Grinder. The audience will also be able to hear Romanian black metallers Sur Austru, as well as the Slovenian KAOZ, the metal aborigines from Velenje. Aside from them, Rock@EXIT at this year’s edition will be completed by Scandal, the melodic street punk band from Romania, as well as Otvoreni Prelom, the anarchic hardcore punks from Serbia, Asphalt Chant as a leading domestic dark wave band, and veterans of the Romanian gothic doom scene – Grimegod. The Petrovaradin Fortress will also be conquered by the Maltese extreme metal band MartYriuM, the hardcore Belgradians Bronze, while the region will, as a reinforcement, provide two Zagreb-based groups – hardcore band Ponor and metalcore band Pale Origins, while the local Thundersteel will be in charge of the old school heavy metal sound.

Kicking off June 21-23 in Reykjavík’s stunning Laugardalur hot spring valley, Iceland’s biggest music festival, Secret Solstice, has revealed its new Friday headlining act and the performer for its exclusive Into The Glacier side event along with releasing daily set times available first in its new festival app. Performing on opening night of the midnight music festival, 5x BRIT Award nominee and multi-platinum DJ/producer Jonas Blue will headline the Secret Solstice main stage on Friday, June 21.
Taking a lucky 100 attendees deep within the ice walls of Langjökull glacier, U.K. dance music legend Mr. G will perform a 7-inch / 45 vinyl only set for Secret Solstice’s only Into The Glacier side event for 2019.
Also announced are the daily schedules and set times for Secret Solstice’s sixth edition, which include the festival’s new after hours programming, ‘Ragnarök,’ in downtown Reykjavík at the Hard Rock Cafe. Taking over two floors of the globally recognized Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Reykjavík, Secret Solstice is excited to introduce its new after hours programming for its 2019 attendees. Continuing the festivities in the epicenter of Reykjavík’s nightlife scene, Ragnarök will have its dancefloor going from 11pm-4:30am on Friday and Saturday, while Sunday night will close out the festival’s programming concluding from 11pm-3:30am. With select artists playing in addition to their festival sets at Laugardalur, Friday night’s programming sees Second State techno signee Chris Hirose, Italy’s Luca Donzelli, Berlin favorite ALXJ along with Iceland’s Casanova and KrBear and more. Dave Clarke Presents returns at ADE 2019 for its 15th edition. The longest running techno event at Amsterdam Dance Event features the talent that currently resides in the real uncompromising and authentic techno scenes. This year Dave invited DVS1, Luke Slater, Paula Temple, a live performance by Terence Fixmer, Marcel Fengler, Anetha, Black Asteroid, Daniel Miller, Mirella Kroes and Mr. Jones. They will all play Clarke’s event at the Melkweg on ADE Friday, October 18th.
Many know Dave Clarke as the Baron of Techno, he also has a long history streching back 30 years with Electro with the popular ‘Whip It’ night being one of his most recent endeavors, so watch out for that ADE line up announcement.
A lot of familiar faces and returning artists for this intense edition of Dave Clarke Presents. DVS1 will bring his hypnotizing groove to the Melkweg dancefloor for the first time in six years. The diverse UK sound is represented by Luke Slater, one of Britain’s true electronic music pioneers and the relentless industrial style of Paula Temple makes a welcome first appearance to his event. Then there’s the long awaited return of Terence Fixmer with a live performance of his unique brand of ‘Techno Body Music’. Also returning from France is Anetha, the then upcoming Parisian DJ played an immense set last year and is now rightfully established in the scene.
Then there’s some more splendid comebacks. Crowd favourite and Berlin legend Marcel Fengler, Daniel Miller founder of the famous British Mute Records and Black Asteroid, the man who has started his career as a sound designer for Prince. The line-up is completed by Dutch techno veteran Mirella Kroes and Clarke’s studio buddy Mr. Jones.

Playing in 12 European countries, they have the perfect tour mapped out with confirmed spots at Dour Festival (be), End of the Road Festival (gb), Haldern Pop (de), Immergut Festival (de), Les Eurockéennes De Belfort (fr), Øyafestivalen (no), Paléo Festival Nyon (ch), Release Athens (gr) ,Roskilde Festival (dk), Stereoleto (ru), TRNSMT (gb), Truck Festival (gb), Vida Festival (es), Vieilles Charrues (fr), Y Not Festival (gb), Ypsigrock (it), plus latest additions Glastonbury (gb) and INmusic Festival (hr).
Black Midi and Flohio are respectively in second and third position, both have been there since February. Black Midi have just announced that their new album “Schlagenheim” will be released on the 21st of June, with the band touring through Canada, Europe, Japan and the US in the autumn. Truly a band taking European music outside Europe and successfully breaking borders.
Since her show at ESNS, Flohio has been touring the
world. She has played in Australia, Canada, Mexico and the US already this
year, and will be visiting ETEP festivals in eight European countries over the
summer.
Changes in the ETEP Artist Chart
A total of 37 ETEP shows have been confirmed over the last month, causing some major shifts in the ETEP Top 10. The top three bands remain unchanged, but these are the only acts to remain in the same position. Mavi Phoenix and Elderbrook have both fought their way up, coming from 9th and 10th position respectively, to take over the 4th and 6th places. As a result, The Murder Capital and Octavian have dropped two spots in the artist chart. Penelope Isles and SEA GIRLS both enter the chart with six shows, which means that we have to say goodbye to girl in red and Whispering Sons.

Broadcasting Union (EBU) public radio stations, as well as national and

export offices. This way, ETEP aims to give a boost to the
international careers of European artists and highlights the participating ETEP
festivals.
Since the start of the programme ETEP has
facilitated 4.308 shows by 1.580 acts in 37 countries, and we are
very proud to have contributed to the careers of so many talented European
acts. Many acts that received support from ETEP at the start of their
careers have grown out to be very successful. Over the past 17 years, acts such

For four days every summer, the 17th century Petrovaradin Fortress opens its gates for EXIT – the award-winning music festival in Serbia’s second city, Novi Sad. EXIT began in 2000 as a student protest fighting for political change, and over the years it’s grown into one of Europe’s biggest festivals, with [thousands] partying in the stunning citadel perched high on a cliff overlooking the River Danube. The positive activism remains in the air, and each year has a specific theme (it was ‘Freedom’ in 2018). EXIT has possibly the most diverse line-up of any European festival, with 20 outdoor stages that feature everything from death metal to pop, indie, reggae and techno – among cobbled paths, courtyards, grass verges, ramparts and underground tunnels. The Dance Arena is the festival’s energetic hub, with 20,000 raving in the fortress moat waiting for the awe-inspiring moment when the sun rises above the ancient walls. Many DJs say the Dance Arena is the greatest place in the world to play, and after Nina Kraviz closed EXIT 2018 with an extended set until 9am, she called it “one of the most special places on Earth”.

A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise is the Netherlands’ most prestigious music festival that’s been a rite of passage for the Dutch since 1993. It takes place in rural Biddinghuizen – only an hour away from Amsterdam, so there’s even a chance to add in a city break either side. Sea Dance in Montenegro is an extension of the EXIT family – a gold standard guarantee in the festival world. Like EXIT, Sea Dance is also an award-winner, and was voted Best Medium Sized Festival at the European Festival Awards after its first edition in 2014. The festival bottles some of the magic of EXIT’s dance stages and transports it to the alluring golden sand beach of Budva on the Adriatic coast, with narrow medieval streets just a short walk away. EXIT’s famous No Sleep Novi Sad stage is repackaged for Sea Dance, with over 100 performers shared around numerous other stages. Evan as a relatively new addition to the festival scene, Sea Dance already has a reputation for securing the biggest names in electronic music.
