BrETEP - better than Brexit
While the Brexit fiasco rumbles on in seemingly never-ending fashion, ETEP continues to prove that collaboration works better than separation. In fact, this year's ETEP edition has worked extremely well for UK acts, scoring high in terms of the numbers of participating artists and overall shows.
One of the essential elements of the European Talent Exchange Programme since its launch in 2003, has been to support the circulation of upcoming artists at international music festivals. But it seems somewhat ironic that in the year of the supposed departure of the UK from the European Union, UK artists should experience an outstanding ETEP season: With 91 confirmed shows for 30 UK acts the Brits lead the ETEP Countries Chart, followed by Ireland with 11 bands playing 37 shows and the Netherlands with 17 artists booked for 36 shows.
So, this gives us good reason to ask Greg Parmley, chairman of the UK Live Music Group and director of the International Live Music Conference (ILMC) to comment on the success rate of UK artists in the ETEP 2019 edition:
“The UK has always punched far above its weight musically, and Europe is an incredibly important market – Ten percent of the UK music industry workforce is European, while Sixty percent of PRS for Music’s international revenue comes from the continent. It’s too early to understand the full impact of Brexit, but UK artists will be wanting to hone their skills in clubs from Amsterdam to Zagreb for many decades to come.” - Greg Parmley

Q&A with Harry Jenner
The song "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish is an enormous hit, and listening to the track, you can’t help clicking your fingers, while the video features some cool looking bad guys. But is this song a soundtrack for Harry Jenner, one of three Austrians ruling the concert market in the alpine republic. Going by the lyrics "So you're a tough guy, like it really rough guy” maybe, perhaps definitely, as an article in Thegap.at refers to him with the headline "Buhmann with Success."
Harry Jenner is the founder and inventor of the Frequency Festival and according to Thegap.at a highly successful but nevertheless pretty much straight forward live music entrepreneur. Besides this, Jenner is also responsible for deciding that the Austrian music festival became an early adopter of ETEP, from the early days when the programme was first launched.

About ETEP
The European Talent Exchange Programme (ETEP) was introduced in 2003 to stimulate the exchange of European artists across Europe, and would not be possible without the funding of the support programmes for culture by the European Union. ETEP has been one of the very first programmes to support popular music on a European level. Currently ETEP receives funding by the sub-programme "Culture" as part of Creative Europe. An initiative of ESNS, ETEP facilitates the bookings of European acts on European & international festivals outside their home countries and generates extensive media exposure for these artists in cooperation with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) public radio stations, as well as national and international media. Additionally, ETEP actively cooperates with 16 music export offices. This way, ETEP aims to give a boost to the international careers of European artists and highlights the participating ETEP festivals.
Since the start of the programme in 2003 ETEP has facilitated 4.308 shows by 1580 acts in 37 countries, and we are very proud to have contributed to the careers of so many talented European acts. Many acts that received support from ETEP at the start of their careers have grown out to be very successful. We’re going Dutch – 6 reasons to hit Lowlands festival in 2019
Holland has no shortage of festivals packing out the summer season, but Lowlands is the country’s most iconic music event that’s been delivering lost weekends since 1993.
A Campingflight To Lowlands Paradise — to give it its full celebratory name — is one of Europe’s premier festivals, an expressive, open and creative adventure with a wildly diverse line-up of musicians, artists, thinkers and dreamers pitching together for the biggest weekend of the year.
The festival takes place in the northern rural area of Biddinghuizen, roughly an hour by train from Amsterdam’s super-connected Schiphol Airport, so it scores plenty of extra bonus points for being one of Europe’s easiest festivals to plan logistically.
From the main arenas to pop-up stages, installations and other one-off happenings, hundreds of performers are on site to steer Lowlands campers in all manner of left-field directions over a giddy four days. This year a few big headline acts include Tame Impala, The National, Billie Eilish, New Order, A$AP Rocky and Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals, but there’s so much more to discover below the surface.
Here are six reasons to pack your tent and take a flight to Lowlands Paradise…
1.They’re smooth operators
We’ve already mentioned Schiphol
Airport’s convenience as a hub flying from anywhere in Europe, and the 70km to
Biddinghuizen is just a short train and shuttle bus away (and the shuttle bus
to nearby Lelystad runs all day for supplies).
Once you’re in, forget about previous horror stories of missing bands while standing in half-hour queues for gruesome portable loo or having your buzz drained in a bar queue that lasts as long as a DJ set. There’s virtually no queues at Lowlands for food, drink or toilets. It’s not exactly a hot take — they simply hire enough bar staff and make sure there are enough bars and toilets around.
And their ‘Munten’ token system makes things even easier – you just buy tokens from dozens of vending machines around the festival and campsites and use them at bars and food stalls so there’s no waiting for change. And you’ve probably guessed, you won’t have to queue for these vending machines either.
2. Happy campers everywhere
Campsites at all the
major UK festivals have slowly been getting better over the years, but the bar
was set pretty low, from horror stories of tents being set on fire, mile-long
queues for meagre facilities and trash piles that would cause Wall-E to short
circuit.
Even though Lowlands has
60,000 party heads roaming around, the campsites have a more boutique festival
vibe, with an emphasis on ample space and well-tended facilities. There’s no
drudgery involved after your wake-up – there’s an abundance of toilets, showers
and food stalls, and even art installations and games areas. And very
importantly, there are plenty of bins and everyone gets a recycle bag – there’s
virtually no litter.
And this is only the ‘regular’ campsites. If you want next-level treatment, the Gllamcamp area has you covered, with a range of canvas tipis, yurts and bell tents, mini cabins, quirky wooden ‘motels’ and even a welcome lobby with a fire pit. And even if you’re traipsing back in the early hours after a rave you’ll have relative silence to drift off.
3. The lost weekend inclusive atmosphere
The Dutch are famed for
their work ethic and unwavering ability to make things run smoothly, but
they’re also European league leaders in partying, illustrated by their huge
number of festivals and famous clubbing scenes in cities like Amsterdam and
Rotterdam.
There’s a rule at
Lowlands and that’s once you’re in, you’re in — it’s an inclusive party to let
off steam for four days. You can’t buy day tickets, so when you get your
wristband and walk through the gates on Thursday you’re there with everyone for
the long haul until Monday morning — no giddy fresh faces gatecrashing on
Sunday and taking over.
Organiser Eric van
Eerdenburg says: “If you come to Campingflight you come in on Thursday and
leave on Monday, there are no fresh virgin spirits coming in! On Sunday, people
may be going berserk, but people are connected all over the field — it’s a
dream place.”
And even if everyone’s going berserk, you won’t find any marauding belligerent drunkenness – maybe due to the Dutch liberal drug laws.
4. Higher learning
All too often music
festivals are an arms race to see how many brain cells you can blitz before
Monday morning, but Lowlands is one festival that might send you home smarter
than when you arrived.
It’s a true music and
arts festival, with sculptures, installations and performance art on display at
all times. Music is also only one of the categories on the programme, which
also includes comedy, theatre, dance, literature, philosophy and arthouse
cinema. It’s hardly recommended, but you could theoretically go to Lowlands and
have a fulfilling weekend without seeing any bands.
The non-music programme isn’t relegated to the sidelines, but the activism, debates, seminars, workshops, lectures and readings are an integral part of the whole Lowlands experience.
5. Strike a pose at the vogue performance workshop
To dive in feet
first at Lowlands it’s better to recalibrate your body clock and flip to
nocturnal mode, if only to catch the early hours electronic artists DJing at
various corners of the site. And chances are, if you’re not Dutch you may
already feel like you’re lagging behind with your dancing when you spot the
locals’ famous shuffle-step ‘Konijnendans’
techno steps.
But Dutch dance
pioneers House
of Vineyard are at Lowlands this year to
welcome you into the ballroom community and reprogram your two left feet with a
vogue performance workshop. Vogueing was created by gay and transgender people
in the 70s and 80s in New York black and Latino communities as a form of
escapism from discrimination through flamboyant dance battles. Popularised in
the mainstream by Madonna’s 1990 hit, Vogue culture has been a huge influence
on artists such Beyonce, Rihanna and FKA Twigs, while scene terms like ‘throwing
shade’ are part of the everyday youth culture lexicon.
Here’s a chance to engage with a vibrant, defiant, inclusive subculture, and look good while doing it.
6. A sense of history
The current
incarnation of Lowlands has evolved from its beginnings in 1993, with a line-up
crammed with crucial alt-rock acts such as Smashing Pumpkins, Jesus Lizard, The
Breeders, Tool and Rage Against the Machine. After a break, the festival
returned in 2000 and has returned every year since.
Since the turn of
the millennium, Lowlands has helped shape and reflect popular underground
music, from blockbuster headliners to catching acts on their way up. The list
of iconic acts to play Lowlands is staggering, and includes The Sex Pistols,
Grace Jones, Faith No More, Nick Cave, Iggy Pop, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Prodigy,
Arcade Fire, Pixies, Sonic Youth, Nine Inch Nails, LCD Soundsystem, The Knife,
Portishead, Kendrick Lamar, Noel Gallagher, Philip Glass, Solange, Patti Smith
and literally thousands more.
And let’s not
forget that the whole magic was started in the late 60s with a Flight To
Lowlands Paradise, with Dutch acts playing the first edition in 1967 and a
little upcoming British act by the name of Pink Floyd headlining in 1968...

OFF Festival Katowice 2019 A Venue for Music and Ideas
OFF Festivals regulars will know that the festival organisers care about the environment as much as they do about music, and they encourage others to do the same. Their efforts in past years won an international Green’n’Clean award and a nomination for the European Green Operations Award. This year, they are taking things one step further: The festival entrance will be turned into a recycling centre. Also, vegan and vegetarian options will dominate the food court menus, and the festival will be easily accessible by bike.
You’ll
notice something right off the bat: As soon as you enter the OFF Festival,
you’ll be drawn into a discussion about important issues. Instead of sweeping
problems under the rug, we’re going to demonstrate their actual scale. This
year, we’re turning the festival entrance into a stockpile of plastic waste.
The creators of the gate—and the website Trashstock.com—are Kasia and Wojtek, the brother-and-sister duo behind the thriving international design firm SOKKA, and winners of several European prizes in the field of design. OFF have worked with them for several years, because they share their environmental concerns and their way of thinking about the world around us.
Kasia and
Wojtek still live in their hometown, Gliwice, but they’ve always wanted to help
people and do useful things. That’s why they started creating high-tech design
solutions for a range of industrial sectors all over the world and here in
Poland. They’ve worked on dozens of innovative projects, including
heart-surgery robots, race cars, construction equipment, firetrucks, snow
groomers, Formula 1 helmets, and even a tank for the Polish military.
Their
experience in the field of design sparked some difficult soul-searching about
the environmental impact of industry and design. Realizing that every object
they design will eventually become waste, they decided to make a radical change
in their modus operandi. “What we want to leave behind isn’t more new stuff or
more awards: it’s a clean planet,” they said. Instead of designing yet another
object, they set out to apply their knowledge of design, production processes,
and product life cycles in their efforts to improve the environment.
Let’s look
at an example. In 2018 Kasia and Wojtek Sokołowski began winding down their
design work at SOKKA to spend more time on a new startup, Trashstock.com, which
aims to build a global sustainable community. Trashstock is intended to be a
tool that gives people the knowledge and means they need to clean up the
environment.
They shared
their idea with Artur Rojek, and immediately found a partner in the OFF
Festival, which was soon joined by the city of Katowice and the event’s main
sponsor, the mineral water brand Cisowianka Perlage, which pledged to take full
responsibility for its product and see its packaging through to the recycling
stage.
This is
just one example of how two people can effect real change for the good of us
all.
The OFF Festival is following through with some bold changes, including a total revolution at the Food Court. Even the most meat-forward vendors have decided to shake up their menus this year, with vegan and vegetarian fare making up a whopping 80% of the food options. The OFF Festival is the only place where you can try hemp soup made from a medieval recipe. Vendors will serve only the highest quality meat, marked with two certificates: QAFP (Quality Assurance for Food Products, for poultry and pork), and QMP (Quality Meat Program, for beef). Both systems set highly restrictive standards for animal feed (which must be free of GMOs, antibiotics, fish meal, etc), genetics (certain hybrids are banned), breeding, slaughter, shipping, and processing (no MSG).
Waste management has been an important concern at the OFF Festival for several years. They use recycled materials and reusable cups, our food and beverages are served in biodegradable containers, and cleaning crews work non-stop throughout the event. They appreciate festival goers helping by depositing their waste in the marked containers.
Off also encourage festival goers to leave their cars at home, if possible, and travel to the OFF by public transportation or bicycle. Bike parking will be available next to the front gate.
The OFF Festival team are still learning and improving, but they believe that working together is the only way to change the planet.
The 2019
OFF Festival Katowice takes place August 2–4 at Three Pond Valley, its regular
venue. Three-day passes are now available at the OFF Shop for 400 PLN. Campground tickets are also available for
80 PLN.

EXIT Festival Had Best Edition So Far With 200,000 Visitors and a Lineup Led by The Cure and Carl Cox
EXIT,
one of the world's leading music festivals in the past two decades, closed its
gates on Monday morning, after another spectacular sunrise at its globally
praised mts Dance Arena stage! Ahead of the next year's big 20th anniversary, this
year's edition had the already massive Serbian festival to reach its new historic peak on many different
points, breaking its daily attendance record from the very start on Thursday
and leading the final number over 200.000
music lovers from more than 90
countries who went through the festival gates in four days and nights. Very
diverse lineups that spread over 20
different stages and the additional
20 zones in the priceless scenography of the colossal 18th century Petrovaradin fortress, built up on a rock looking over
the Danube to the charming city of Novi Sad, are one of the EXIT's distinctive
features that again left many lost for words. Some of the world's leading music
stars added to the overall experience including The Cure, Greta Van Fleet,
The Chainsmokers, Carl Cox, Skepta, Amelie Lens, Paul Kalkbrenner, Dimitri
Vegas & Like Mike, Solomun, Tom Walker, IAMDDB, Jeff Mills, Chase &
Status, Desiigner, Maceo Plex, Lost Frequencies and hundreds of
others. As the one of very
few major festivals that was born from the social activism, EXIT once again
welcomed the activists from the Standing Rock tribe who fight for preservation

player, Novak Djokovic, who has launched a long-term cooperation between his
and EXIT's foundation for developing pre-school education in Serbia.

The
opening day was officially branded as the OPENS Day, an abbreviation from the "Omladinska Prestonica Evrope Novi Sad", that translates
from the EU title of the European Youth Capital which EXIT team initiated for
its own hometown. It was the festival's biggest day too, since on July 4th, the
56,000 visitors set the new daily attendance record, while the full-blooded
concert of The Cure, the band that lead the bill of almost all major
festivals this year, lifted the energy so high for what will turn out to be the
best EXIT so far. The iconic DJ Carl Cox, both in his own solo set and in
the rare back2back with Maceo Plex had the overwhelmingly big Dance Arena
packed with 25.000 dancers and lead them for hours through night and sunrise,
well into hot sunny morning until the 8am! The smoking hot Friday night saw the
leading world hitmakers, The Chainsmokers putting up a delirious show, followed by the drum and bass icons, Chase
& Status, and preceded by the legendary frontman of Pantera, Phil
Anselmo. Dance Arena welcomed Berlin's finest electronic superstar Paul Kalkbrenner, the equally popular
German producer Boris Brejcha and
the Korean with a stellar rise Peggy Gou.
The
Saturday night fever justified the euphoria regarding the most talked about
band, who many see as the saviours of rock music, Greta
Van Fleet, and the flawless show by the popular Tom Walker. At the
Arena, the dance continued with the 6-hour long rhapsody of the charismatic
Ibiza boss Solomun who brought his famous “Solomun +1” party to Exit, featuring
another EXIT's regulars as his guests, the italian duo Tale of Us! The
explosive finale over at Main Stage had Skepta delivering rhymes from
his new master peace album, the energetic trap hero Desiigner and the
new trap-jazz diva, IAMDDB, while the spectacular show by world no.1 DJ
duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike had people going wild with their
high-energy show full of pyrotechnics and special effects!
On
the last day at the Arena, the legendary Detroit virtuoso Jeff Mills and
one of the leading DJs of the next generation, Dax J, delivered some of the finest techno from
the 60-meter wide stage filled with the latest tech and LED screens that sum at
3000 square feet! The honor of closing the mts Dance Arena and the whole
festival this year went to the global and universally loved techno hero Amelie
Lens, who got her first ovations with thousands chanting her name as soon
as she stepped on the stage! After two hours and the first 20-minute long
encore, knowing about the strong relation between EXIT and the electronic
giants The Prodigy, the Belgium superstar closed the whole festival with "Firestarter" honoring
the late Keith Flint and celebrating life with 25.000 ravers that stayed
until the very end at 8:30 in the Monday morning.
EXIT 2019 was a perfect intro to the big celebration set for the next year, called EXIT 2.0, that will mark 20th anniversary of the world-renowned Serbian festival.

Yoko Ono's art installation revealed by EXIT Festival at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Serbia
Just a
week before its opening, the globally acclaimed EXIT Festival revealed the art installation
by the peace activist and the multimedia artist Yoko Ono at its legendary
venue, the colossal Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, Serbia. The artist addressed the audience via video
message and after the Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic gave a brief speech,
local children choir revealed the art while singing to John Lennon's peace
anthem "Imagine". The installation is titled “One
day…” and its looks are inspired by the traditional boat chaika, used by the Serbian frontiersmen who patrolled the southern
European borders with the Ottoman Empire. The date picked for the reveal was no
less symbolic since it marked 100 years since the Treaty of Versailles was
signed on June 28th 1919, officially ending the World War I. Together with Yoko
Ono, EXIT thus declared the First World Peace, as the only major music festival

EXIT’s
founder Dušan Kovačević says Ono's work resonates with the festival's values
and peace initiatives in the last two decades: “EXIT was the first mass event
to gather the young people of ex-Yugoslavia in one place after the wars of the
90s. Petrovaradin Fortress became the Fortress of Peace already then, and it is
my exceptional pleasure that one of the most influential women of modern times
recognized our social activism and decided to join us in such a significant
project.”
The
landmark was inspired by the Novi Sad 2021 European Capital of Culture program
platform "Fortress of Peace", since Petrovaradin Fortress is the
largest defensive military fortress in Europe which has, however, not been a
part of any battle or war operation ever since it was built in the 18th
century. The work itself an altered ready-made riverboat that Ono appropriated,
painted white and lit from the inside to make the boat glow in the darkness.
The sculpture was made to commemorate the end of the First World War, in which
millions of people, mainly young men, were lost. The festival used this
centennial anniversary of the important historical event, and create the first
great peace monument in this part of Europe. A special moment in the history of
human consciousness development marks the fact that Serbia and Austria, whose
conflict de facto initiated the WWI, currently have excellent relations on all
fields, and this actually symbolically closes the full circle leading from war
to peace.
Ono
chose a local river boat to anchor the work in Serbian reality. However, it is
an object and a form with broader connotations and symbolic meaning. It brings layers
of signification, referring to the wars that have taken place on the Serbian
rivers Danube and Sava. But beyond that to the people in general escaping the
atrocity of wars by boat, including the recent migration of refugees over the
Mediterranean Sea. A boat can is also a symbol of the journey through life, and
thus as that which enables us to make such a journey, whether it be faith,
education, desire or curiosity.
The #FirstWorldPeace initiative is a part of the EXIT Foundation strategy of improvement and preservation of the Petrovaradin Fortress. The mission of the EXIT Foundation is to preserve cultural and historical heritage of the Petrovaradin Fortress, as well as to promote its home town, Novi Sad. EXIT Festival is also part of the “Take a Stand” declaration, initiated by European Festival Association Yourope, of which EXIT is a member. The “First World Peace” project is part of this initiative, aimed at connecting people and creating a community of young people, via music and culture, in a peaceful and positive way. This project is realized with the help of Novi Sad 2021- European Capital of Culture, City of Novi Sad and NIS.

ADE announces first confirmed artists
Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the world's largest festival and business conference for electronic music, today announced the first selection of artists for 2019. Among them are Amelie Lens (BE), Carl Cox (GB), DJ Nobu (JP), Helena Hauff (DE), Identified Patient (NL), Jeff Mills (US), Martin Garrix (NL), Nastia (UA), New Order (GB), Sevn Alias (NL), SOPHIE (GB), Tchami (FR), The Black Madonna (US) and Tiësto (NL). The organisers expect to welcome 400,000 visitors for the 24th edition.
The five day and night gathering runs from October
16th-20th, 2019 and is the world’s most extensive festival and conference
program for electronic music, offering a broad range of art, film, photography,
alongside music and the latest trends in technology and social good.
Alongside the popularity of the night and day program from
national and international visitors, the organisers see growing interest in the
conference ADE Sound Lab, the daytime cultural activities and the live electronic
music and sustainability focuses in both the festival and conference program.
ADE 2018 featured more than 2,500 artists and 600 speakers
in 200 locations. In previous communications, ADE’s organisers announced France
will be the 2019 Focus Country, that the opening concert will feature SOHN
& Metropole Orkest, and that ADE LIVE and ADE Green will return to this
year’s program.
The latest announced keynote speakers include Interaction
designer and media artist Christopher Bauder, Group Vice President of Tencent
Music Entertainment Andy Ng and head of AEG Studios Raymond Roker. They join the already announced Amazon Chief
Technology Officer Dr. Werner Vogels and Lisa Ellis, Soundcloud’s global head
of music and artist relations amongst others.

Heavy riffs and countless hits: Rock Spectacle at EXIT Festival Headlined by The Cure!
Between July 4 and 7, EXIT Festival’s home at the Petrovaradin Fortress will be rocked by heavy guitar riffs and energetic vocals headlined by rock giants The Cure! They will, among others, be joined by the most striking rock’n’roll band of today, Greta Van Fleet, the iconic Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo with his new band The Illegals, as well as the diva of symphonic metal, Tarja Turunen!
The news that a serious rock crew is gathering at Serbia’s EXIT Festival
delighted all fans of heavy sound, ready to conquer the Petrovaradin fortress
from July 4 to 7. A true spectacle is
being prepared for this year’s EXIT, headlined by one of the greatest bands in
the history of music, The Cure, for whom this year is particularly important,
as they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in March. They
started their tour at the Sydney Opera House, celebrating along 40 impressive
years on the international scene, while EXIT made it on the tour list due to
the personal insistence of the band! Greta
Van Fleet or the saviors of Rock and Roll, as they are hailed by the media,
are bringing old-school rock into fashion again – and they are also bringing their
numerous hits from their debut album straight to EXIT Festival. The album itself
achieved a massive feat – it made it to the top of the American music chart!
Also arriving to the fortress is Phil Anselmo, the famous frontman of
Pantera, known worldwide one of the biggest metal bands of all times. Along with
him, his new band The Illegals is arriving to EXIT, with a special performance
consisting solely of Pantera songs. Another former singer of a legendary band,
Nightwish’s Tarja
Turunen, will face the crowd of
EXIT Festival with her powerful operatic voice at Addiko Fusion Stage.
The massive army of guitars at this year’s EXIT will further be reinforced by the iconic English band 65daysofstatic as a supporting act for The Cure, the giants of the Swedish melodic death scene Soilwork, famous British punkers Peter and the Test Tube Babies, Swedish metal pioneers Entombed A.D. and ska legends The Selecter. The explosion of guitars will be further led by one of the leading deathcore performers in the world Whitechapel, giants of Norwegian music scene Arcturus, fearless street punk/Oi! band from London Booze & Glory, Californian hardcore punks Total Chaos and German and worldwide legends of the dark wave industrial scene Das Ich! In charge of a mean gig will also be Enforcer, one of the most powerful heavy speed metal bands from Sweden, as well as one of the most acclaimed metal names of this unique scene, the Swedish October Tide, Dutch hardcore band Vitamin X and English punk band Grade 2, while straight out of the frozen hell of Russia we can expect the crossover band Siberian Meat Grinder. The audience will also be able to hear Romanian black metallers Sur Austru, as well as the Slovenian KAOZ, the metal aborigines from Velenje. Aside from them, Rock@EXIT at this year’s edition will be completed by Scandal, the melodic street punk band from Romania, as well as Otvoreni Prelom, the anarchic hardcore punks from Serbia, Asphalt Chant as a leading domestic dark wave band, and veterans of the Romanian gothic doom scene – Grimegod. The Petrovaradin Fortress will also be conquered by the Maltese extreme metal band MartYriuM, the hardcore Belgradians Bronze, while the region will, as a reinforcement, provide two Zagreb-based groups – hardcore band Ponor and metalcore band Pale Origins, while the local Thundersteel will be in charge of the old school heavy metal sound.

camp located on the most beautiful beach on Danube, which offers glamping

EXIT Festival will be held 4-7 July 2019 at Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, while the always diverse line-up will include heroes of several generations, as well as the leading stars of today from various genres, from rock and roll, punk, metal, pop, hip-hop and practically all styles of electronic music, all the way to many genres of latino, reggae and other world and local music. Kicking off June 21-23 in Reykjavík’s stunning Laugardalur hot spring valley, Iceland’s biggest music festival, Secret Solstice, has revealed its new Friday headlining act and the performer for its exclusive Into The Glacier side event along with releasing daily set times available first in its new festival app. Performing on opening night of the midnight music festival, 5x BRIT Award nominee and multi-platinum DJ/producer Jonas Blue will headline the Secret Solstice main stage on Friday, June 21.
Taking a lucky 100 attendees deep within the ice walls of Langjökull glacier, U.K. dance music legend Mr. G will perform a 7-inch / 45 vinyl only set for Secret Solstice’s only Into The Glacier side event for 2019.
Also announced are the daily schedules and set times for Secret Solstice’s sixth edition, which include the festival’s new after hours programming, ‘Ragnarök,’ in downtown Reykjavík at the Hard Rock Cafe. Renowned for his live sets, the sold out event will see the U.K.-born artist perform a special 7-inch / 45 vinyl only set 500 meters deep within the Langjökull glacier.
Taking over two floors of the globally recognized Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Reykjavík, Secret Solstice is excited to introduce its new after hours programming for its 2019 attendees. Continuing the festivities in the epicenter of Reykjavík’s nightlife scene, Ragnarök will have its dancefloor going from 11pm-4:30am on Friday and Saturday, while Sunday night will close out the festival’s programming concluding from 11pm-3:30am. With select artists playing in addition to their festival sets at Laugardalur, Friday night’s programming sees Second State techno signee Chris Hirose, Italy’s Luca Donzelli, Berlin favorite ALXJ along with Iceland’s Casanova and KrBear and more.
