ABOUT DAVE CLARKE
He may be known as The Baron Of Techno, a moniker given to him by renowned BBC Radio DJ / journalist John Peel, but Dave Clarke has an anarchist streak a mile wide and punk in his soul, having no truck with establishment figures or authoritarianism.
A hard working purist, forward thinking futurist, technology geek, part Gothic and gadget lover who embraced the digital revolution in an early stage while his peers were still sniffing the smell of vinyl, a format he hasn’t used professionally in eleven years. It’s unsurprising he revels in the libertarianism of the World Wide Web. It gives symmetry to his savvy techno vision.
As a talented DJ and producer Dave Clarke will continue his newfound love for making music, gather air miles by the gallon and preach his vision on techno both on the decks
and on the radio, whilst never forgetting the long and bumpy journey he had to undertake to get where he is now: on top of the game, respected by both fans and peers and very much relevant in today’s scene. “He might be established, but he will never be establishment”. http://www.daveclarke.com/

EXIT Festival entered a new era with record attendance of 215,000 visitors
Over the past weekend, EXIT Festival set a new record number of visitors of over 215,000 people who went through the festival gates on Petrovaradin fortress from July 5 to 9 and came from over 60 countries! The 17th edition of the award-winning festival in Serbia will be remembered for several milestones, such as "Day 0" with The Killers headlining the Main Stage and No Sleep takeover of the new spectacular version of the iconic Dance Arena. This year’s opening ceremony was also one of the highlights in the festival's history whose social activism started two decades ago from student protest against the oppressive regime of Slobodan Milosevic. To honour its own roots, EXIT celebrated 50 years of Summer of Love which gave birth to revolutionary hippie movement that changed the world forever by promoting peace, love and human rights. Tens of thousands gathered at the Main Stage were emotionally charged by the Standing Rock Water Protectors from the Sioux reservation in North Dakota, who have become a global symbol of the environment protection, while one of the greatest speakers of our time Nick Vujicic inspired people to never give up on their dreams. To mark this important anniversary, the finale of the EXIT's opening ceremony included more than 30 actors on stage singing key songs from the musical "Hair".

Boys Noize, British Murder Boys, Gary Beck and many others for Dave Clarke Presents at Melkweg
James Ruskin, Charlotte de Witte and Lady Starlight also at ADE-night
Dave Clarke Presents will be back at ADE 2017 for it’s 13th edition with a stellar line-up with Boys Noize, Gary Beck, James Ruskin, the comeback of British Murder Boys (Regis & Surgeon), a performance by Lady Starlight and some of the low countries finest with Estroe, Mirella Kroes, Charlotte de Witte and Mr. Jones.
Many know Dave Clarke as the Baron of Techno, but with his ever expanding encyclopedia on everything dance related, he is also the Lord of Electro, with his popular ‘Whip It’ night being one of his most recent endeavors. Whip It proved just how irresistible the electro genre can be, so watch out for that ADE line up announcement.
Who better to headline this edition of Dave Clarke Presents than DJ/producer/label boss Alexander Ridha aka Boys Noize who effortlessly merges various styles with influences of hip-hop and disco roots as well as heavy noise and electro house sounds and his sets are equally uplifting, not only technically but also as a showman.
Then there’s the return of the legendary British Muder Boys. The sideproject of Regis and Surgeon was responsible for some legendary performances creating total and utter chaos by drenching their brand of techno in a punk ethos, derailing into a perverse orgy of noise, sex sounds and some heavy percussion. A perfect fit for the American performance artist Lady Starlight, who’s worked before with Surgeon.
Fans of techno will be happy to see the return of Gary Beck. The Scotsman is a fantastic dj and producer, having released productions on renowned labels including Cocoon and Saved with his latest release ‘Famoo Funk’, receiving support from Clarke’s own ‘White Noise’ show and BBC Radio 1.
Then there’s James Ruskin, the versatile Blueprint label boss who is responsible for some of Surgeon, Lakker and Samuel Gerridge’s best tracks. As a dj and producer, he constantly reinvents himself, whether it’s his solo tracks, or the collabs he does with Mark Broom or Regis as O/V/R.
Having made quite the impression at last year’s event, it should come as no surprise to see Charlotte de Witte on the line-up. The Flemish dj and producer found herself embraced by the techno scene in a very short amount of time, largely thanks to her love for the darker side of techno.
The line-up is completed by Dutch techno veterans Mirella Kroes, Estroe and Clarke’s studio buddy Mr. Jones.

Nik Vujičić and Standing Rock to address the world leaders live from EXIT Festival
One of the most influential motivational speakers in the world, Nick Vujičić, will make a speech in front of the tens of thousands of people gathered at the globally acclaimed EXIT Festival in Serbia on Thursday, July 6. Vujicic, whose speeches inspire millions of people worldwide, will address the world leaders in appeal to join efforts and preserve the planet's endengered enviroment. The whole event will be broadcasted live from the colossal Petrovaradin Fortress where EXIT festival is held for almost two decades. He will be joined by the Aaron Turgeon, representative of the Standing Rock movement, founded by remaining members of The Sioux tribe, from the reservation of the same name. The movement came into the international spotlight after they peacefully protested, blocked the works for several months, and, last winter, finally managed to stop the construction of the oil pipeline in North Dakota, which threatened to destroy the entire ecosystem on their land! The movement reached its peak when the oil company's private security attempted to violently repel the peaceful protesters, which prompted 2000 US Army veterans to create a human shield around the tribe. Immediately after that, the world witnessed a historic scene, when the veterans, in the name of their ancestors, asked for and received pardon from the tribe leaders for all the injustice against Native Americans.
Both Vujicic and Turgeon will call for world unity in a joint effort to preserve the life on Earth at the festival's openning on Main Stage. As the only still existing major festival that was founded from the peaceful protests and social activism, EXIT is marking a 50th anniversary of the original Summer of Love in 1967 when the revolutionary hippie movement changed the world standing for peace, enviroment, freedom of speech, human rights, and social, racial, and gender equality. Vujičić and Turgeon will also participate in the global panel discussion "The 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love - has the world gone astray?". It will take place on Wednesday, July 5 and their host will be Dušan Kovačević, the founder of the EXIT Festival. Via live stream, the panel will be available worldwide, and will be streamed accross numerous media globally and social networks of prominent public figures.
Nick Vujičić was born without the extremities, but he accepted his deficiency, and took up the discrimination of his peers and all the difficulties as a challenge rather than as a problem. It became his mission to talk to others about the strength of one's will and the positive attitude which can help us solve problems. Therefore, his main message is that any circumstance in which a person finds themselves can be overcome. Nick dedicated his entire life to motivational messages, became a media star and a global role model. So far, he has shared his experience with 6.5 million people in 63 countries worldwide, and he gave advice to 16 presidents and 9 governments. Nick Vujičić's books are bestsellers which are sold in millions of copies, which change lives, and performances of this motivational speaker are unforgettable experiences for everybody who had an opportunity to listen to him.
Another inspirational story is the story of hip hop artist Aaron Turgeon, better known by his stage name Prolific the Rapper. He is a representative of the Standing Rock movement and The Sioux tribe, whose life mission is to fight for their living space. They grouped in protests against Dakota Access Pipeline project in the United States of America, which envisaged laying oil pipes across the holy territories of the Native Americans and the Missouri River, their main source of drinking water. Standing Rock is not just a movement for the Sioux homeland, it represents a fight for the rights to live free and preserve the environment greedily destroyed all around the world by corporations which value profit above everything else.
