5 reasons not to miss OFF Festival
From visionaries to madmen, punk rock prophets to electronic shamans, distorted guitars to toned-down acoustic sounds: OFF Festival has inspiring music in abundance. From August 4 to 6 you’ll be hard pressed to hear it all and take it all in, but rest assured you will experience something new and unexpected. Here’s 5 reasons not to miss this years OFF Festival…
Start OFF as you mean to go on
To get you in the festival mood our friends at P23 Club are hosting a special StartOFF party on 3rd August, featuring Krakow-based DJ and producer Eltron John spinning everything from disco to soul, house and techno. Byron the Aquarius, famed for his work with Warp, Giant Steps and Wild Oats, will be the second StartOFF guest. Next up is Austrian DJ Demuja, who will be bringing you his selections of disco, raw house and techno. For techno with a French flavour, stick around to hear a resident of the legendary Concrete Club, Paris DJ Antigone. To finish the StartOFF night with a bang, Urloop, a new breed of Polish DJs, will teach you some old school techno.
Dance Non-Stop at the P23 Club
The OFF Festival’s new dance venue is the result of our partnership with the Katowice Porcelain Factory and P23, a mainstay of the city’s nightlife. Drop by the P23 club every day for over eight hours of non-stop music, with producers and DJs from Poland’s best clubs manning the decks. You might hear pretty much anything — from disco to house and techno — but we’ve made a point of inviting artists who don’t quite fit into the restrictive club music pigeonholes, like Abu Zeinah, who will be performing with a live (noise) act; Lutto Lento, who’s bound to surprise you with some something as extraordinary as his recent dancehall remix for Resident Advisor; and Kosel, whose analog experiments defy any genre labels.
A welcoming festival
OFF Festival regulars know all about this: tolerance and acceptance are the two cornerstones of our festival. It is a welcoming place for people with disabilities. As in previous years, festival guests with mobility impairments will have access to two viewing platforms, one in front of the Main Stage and another at the Forest Stage. Carers of festival attendees with mobility or visual impairments receive free entrance to the festival.
Children under ten will be also admitted free of charge — let’s turn them into a new generation of music fans and artists! And if you are parents or guardians, remember to drop by the PiaskOFFnica, where you can relax while the kids are taking part in games and workshops.
A delicious, wonderful life
If you want to get through our three-day music and social marathon in one piece, you’re going to need plenty of energy. That said, the OFF Festival Food Court has long been more than just a place to load up on calories. Our food is prepared with organic and Fair Trade produce, with options for vegans and vegetarians, gluten-free and kids' menus. We also put the environment first by sorting our waste and choosing biodegradable tableware.
With a wide, sizzling selection of delicious international flavours, OFF gastronomic delights are guaranteed to satisfy even the most discerning of gourmets. Treat yourself to BB Kings' all-American BBQ or Diaments' Silesian grilled food. Have a bite of Hocio's vegan hot dogs or dig into Dutch soused herring prepared by Sztuka Śledzia. Whether you're looking for Moroccan tajine or Polish pierogi, “auteur” wines or superfood smoothies, OFF is a foodies' dream.
Katowice, city of culture
Three Pond Valley will obviously be the centre of events at this year’s OFF Festival, but we encourage you to explore the city of Katowice while you’re here. Take a cultural tour of the city — there’s plenty of good stuff going on.
Is there a mathematical order in the world around us or is it a figment of our own imagination? Visit Galeria Szara to discover Szymon Kobylarz' “Unknown Unknowns”, an exploration of the mathematical underpinnings of the most mundane objects and activities. Rondo Sztuki presents “Shure Shot,” an exhibition of music photography by the regulars of Polish festival scene Joanna “Forta” Kurkowska and Michał Murawski. And whilst you're there why not pop in to see “Keep it Open?”, an exhibition turned amusement park. Antonina Konopelska and Piotr Urbaniec invite the viewer to participate in games and expeditions where adventure is what’s at stake. James Mollison's “Playground” is a joint venture by Katowice's City of Gardens Gallery and New York’s Aperture Gallery. Mollison is a critically acclaimed, award-winning photographer and author, currently travelling the world and collecting images and sounds of playgrounds to showcase the bright and dark side of the social interactions among schoolchildren.

After record breaking 350,000 attendance EXIT announce dates and early bird tickets for 2018
EXIT Festival's Summer of Love was a huge success, gathering over 350,000 people from more than 90 countries to a run of four consecutive festivals, Sea Star in Croatia, Revolution in Romania, EXIT in Serbia, and Sea Dance in Montenegro. The project was created to mark the 50th anniversary of the social phenomenon in the late '60s that along with the festivals as we know them, gave birth to the revolutionary hippie movement that changed the world forever.
The EXIT Summer of Love totalled 15 festival days on more than 60 stages and zones hosting thousands of artists, including The Killers, Liam Gallagher, The Prodigy, Years & Years, Fatboy Slim, Sean Paul, Jason Derulo, Rag'n'Bone Man, Nina Kraviz, Roisin Murphy, John Newman, Solomun & Dixon, Jeff Mills, Paul Kalkbrenner, Hardwell, Alan Walker, Robin Schulz, Duke Dumont, Jamie Jones, Jake Bugg, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Rudimental, Noisia, Pendulum, Modestep, Black Sun Empire, Lost Frequencies, Ellen Allien, Paula Temple & Rebekah, Red Axes, Princess Nokia, The Damned, Bjarki, Nicole Moudaber, Black Coffee, Dax J, Amelie Lens, Charlotte de Witte, SNTS, Antigone & Francois X, Mind Against and many more!
EXIT Summer of Love 2017 | Opening Ceremony: https://youtu.be/SC_pg7wJXZ0
After EXIT Festival's first edition in 2001 was the first mass event to gather huge crowds of young people from all over the region after the civil wars in Balkans, the arrival of the Serbian festival's team to the Croatian coast for Sea Star Festival got everyone’s attention. The festival was symbolically opened by waterpolo players from all four countries where EXIT Summer of Love took place, who were swimming to the center of the lagoon and launched a water hologram with a projection that marked the 50th anniversary of the original Summer of Love 1967.
The first edition of Sea Star Festival, totalled in over 50,000 people, with the capacity of the festival needing to be increased three times, and the number of stages and zones doubled in comparison to the original plan. After such huge demand. The following boutique festival, Revolution, held in the Romanian city of Timisoara from June 1 to 3, with the new energy of EXIT Summer of Love, also broke its own record with 20,000 fans!
Globally acclaimed for almost two decades, EXIT Festival took place from July 5 to 9 with 215,000 visitors, which set the new record at the colossal Petrovaradin Fortress. This years opening ceremony also included one of world's most influential speakers Nick Vujicic, joined by the Water Protectors from the Sioux Tribe and the environmental movement Standing Rock, who gave emotional emotional speaches in front of tens of thousands, with the spirit of the 60s being revived through the live musical "Hair" with over 30 actors on the Main Stage!
EXIT headliners took home plenty of life-long memories, with even Liam Gallagher tweeting that "EXIT Festival in Novi Sad has to be 1 of the best festivals on the planet"! and closing the legendary mts Dance Arena Nina Kraviz DJ set looked more like a rock stadium spectacle with 25.000 fans cheering her name at the end and she said it was "one of the most magical dance floors in the world"!
The finale of the EXIT Summer of Love ended back to the shores of the turquoise Adriatic, to the beautiful Jaz beach in Montenegro, where the fourth Sea Dance Festival took place between July 13 and 15. After John Newman and Fatboy Slim brought the energy levels up night in and night out, the victory belonged to the Jamaican superstar, Sean Paul, who brought the main stage to boiling point! This, 15th night of this year’s EXIT Summer of Love, was taken into the morning and a spectacular sunrise by the new world techno superstar, Amelie Lens.
Next year EXIT will bring another exciting theme for all these festivals run by EXIT Team, with many more surprises to be announced along with first headliners. Make sure to register now and be among the first to be offered Early-Bird tickets: https://exit-adventure.typeform.com/to/g4EE7V
EXIT Festival 2018 will take place from 12-15 July 2018.

Dave Clarke announces line-up for new Whip It at Amsterdam Dance Event
Egyptian Lover, The Advent, ADULT., Fleck E.S.C. and Brutuzz present at electro club daytime event
His moniker may be ‘The Baron of Techno’, but we can also permanently add 'King of Electro’ to Dave Clarke’s titles for his 30 year plus passion and support to the genre. This year ADE will see the third edition of his electro-centric daytime party ‘Whip It’ at Melkweg Amsterdam on 21st October.
On the line up we will see the likes of Egyptian Lover, The Advent, ADULT., Fleck E.S.C. and Brutuzz performing alongside Clarke himself. Tickets available here http://www.ticketmaster.nl/event/192181?brand=nl_melkweg
Probably the most eye-catching name on the billing would be Greg Boussard, better known as Egyptian Lover, one of Electro and Hip Hop’s first pioneers fusing elements of both genres to one tasty end result. Fans of Cisco Ferreira know all too well it started with acid and electro, with tight snare drums and snappy synths, his guise of the Advent has produced some stunning tracks over the past few decades. Detroiters ADULT who were once on the forefront of the electroclash movement are now back again with a bang and a new album. Expect something special from their live performance at Whip It. Frenchman Fleck E.S.C operates in Japan via UK label Bass Agenda and takes a modern approach to Electro, using his experience of playing bass and drums for his left field productions. Completing this ADE edition of Whip is Sonic Boom-resident's DJ Brutuzz. Whip it is an event for Electro lovers run by electro lovers.

ABOUT DAVE CLARKE
He may be known as The Baron Of Techno, a moniker given to him by renowned BBC Radio DJ / journalist John Peel, but Dave Clarke has an anarchist streak a mile wide and punk in his soul, having no truck with establishment figures or authoritarianism.
A hard working purist, forward thinking futurist, technology geek, part Gothic and gadget lover who embraced the digital revolution in an early stage while his peers were still sniffing the smell of vinyl, a format he hasn’t used professionally in eleven years. It’s unsurprising he revels in the libertarianism of the World Wide Web. It gives symmetry to his savvy techno vision.
As a talented DJ and producer Dave Clarke will continue his newfound love for making music, gather air miles by the gallon and preach his vision on techno both on the decks
and on the radio, whilst never forgetting the long and bumpy journey he had to undertake to get where he is now: on top of the game, respected by both fans and peers and very much relevant in today’s scene. “He might be established, but he will never be establishment”. http://www.daveclarke.com/

EXIT Festival entered a new era with record attendance of 215,000 visitors
Over the past weekend, EXIT Festival set a new record number of visitors of over 215,000 people who went through the festival gates on Petrovaradin fortress from July 5 to 9 and came from over 60 countries! The 17th edition of the award-winning festival in Serbia will be remembered for several milestones, such as "Day 0" with The Killers headlining the Main Stage and No Sleep takeover of the new spectacular version of the iconic Dance Arena. This year’s opening ceremony was also one of the highlights in the festival's history whose social activism started two decades ago from student protest against the oppressive regime of Slobodan Milosevic. To honour its own roots, EXIT celebrated 50 years of Summer of Love which gave birth to revolutionary hippie movement that changed the world forever by promoting peace, love and human rights. Tens of thousands gathered at the Main Stage were emotionally charged by the Standing Rock Water Protectors from the Sioux reservation in North Dakota, who have become a global symbol of the environment protection, while one of the greatest speakers of our time Nick Vujicic inspired people to never give up on their dreams. To mark this important anniversary, the finale of the EXIT's opening ceremony included more than 30 actors on stage singing key songs from the musical "Hair".

Boys Noize, British Murder Boys, Gary Beck and many others for Dave Clarke Presents at Melkweg
James Ruskin, Charlotte de Witte and Lady Starlight also at ADE-night
Dave Clarke Presents will be back at ADE 2017 for it’s 13th edition with a stellar line-up with Boys Noize, Gary Beck, James Ruskin, the comeback of British Murder Boys (Regis & Surgeon), a performance by Lady Starlight and some of the low countries finest with Estroe, Mirella Kroes, Charlotte de Witte and Mr. Jones.
Many know Dave Clarke as the Baron of Techno, but with his ever expanding encyclopedia on everything dance related, he is also the Lord of Electro, with his popular ‘Whip It’ night being one of his most recent endeavors. Whip It proved just how irresistible the electro genre can be, so watch out for that ADE line up announcement.
Who better to headline this edition of Dave Clarke Presents than DJ/producer/label boss Alexander Ridha aka Boys Noize who effortlessly merges various styles with influences of hip-hop and disco roots as well as heavy noise and electro house sounds and his sets are equally uplifting, not only technically but also as a showman.
Then there’s the return of the legendary British Muder Boys. The sideproject of Regis and Surgeon was responsible for some legendary performances creating total and utter chaos by drenching their brand of techno in a punk ethos, derailing into a perverse orgy of noise, sex sounds and some heavy percussion. A perfect fit for the American performance artist Lady Starlight, who’s worked before with Surgeon.
Fans of techno will be happy to see the return of Gary Beck. The Scotsman is a fantastic dj and producer, having released productions on renowned labels including Cocoon and Saved with his latest release ‘Famoo Funk’, receiving support from Clarke’s own ‘White Noise’ show and BBC Radio 1.
Then there’s James Ruskin, the versatile Blueprint label boss who is responsible for some of Surgeon, Lakker and Samuel Gerridge’s best tracks. As a dj and producer, he constantly reinvents himself, whether it’s his solo tracks, or the collabs he does with Mark Broom or Regis as O/V/R.
Having made quite the impression at last year’s event, it should come as no surprise to see Charlotte de Witte on the line-up. The Flemish dj and producer found herself embraced by the techno scene in a very short amount of time, largely thanks to her love for the darker side of techno.
The line-up is completed by Dutch techno veterans Mirella Kroes, Estroe and Clarke’s studio buddy Mr. Jones.
