dubfire:liveHYBRID debuts in Ibiza at International Live Summit
Dubfire’s critically acclaimed live project dubfire:liveHYBRID is heading to Ibiza for it’s debut performance on the Island for the International Live Summit closing party at the historic, UNESCO World Heritage Dalt Vila site.
Never satisfied with the status quo, Dubfire spent two years crafting a live show; his HYBRID concept has been wowing audiences since its soft launch debut at the Amsterdam Dance Event in 2014. Described by Thump as, “unlike anything we had previously seen or heard before anywhere,” HYBRID reinvents the concert experience by seamlessly weaving together elements of 2D and 3D animation with live audio and lighting to explore the intersection of science and technology - of man and machine - and their resulting evolution and inevitable fusion. After touring 12 different countries in 2015, and receiving rave reviews at Coachella, the critically acclaimed show will touch down at more of the biggest events across the globe.
Says Dubfire: “I’d always intended for my music to be performed live, supported by the latest advancements in music, stage design, lighting and sound technology. It took me years to build up a body of work that I’m proud to stand behind and find the team to create the HYBRID show. It’s been an incredibly inspiring ride and I’m tremendously excited to finally bring the show to the fans who continue to support me and my sound”

“Also excellent in the Mojave was Iranian DJ Dubfire, whose late Saturday turn was technical, precise, and wildly fun”. – Pitchfork
"We don’t exaggerate when we tell you the event was unlike anything we had previously seen or heard before anywhere, let alone at ADE" – THUMP
"The cinematic experience of Dubfire 's performance feels like you are inside a movie...indeed the highlight of this years Amsterdam dance event" - The Creators Project, Vice
“Playing behind four panels that enhanced and refracted his shadows, he (Dubfire) unveiled his new live show on Friday night, captivating the crowd with a spellbinding combination of minimal techno and trippy rendered visual.”. – Billboard
Decade of Dubfire
Is that wasn’t enough, Dubfire will also celebrate a decade of Dubfire in 2016, having gone down his own distinctly singular sonic path for a whole ten years. After early success as part of the still influential dance duo Deep Dish, the man born Ali Shirazinia now has his own label empire, legions of fans around the world and a unique take on electornic music that has made him a truly global superstar.
It was no easy move to go solo after the Grammy winning success of the Deep Dish project, but the challenge of carrying out his own solo musical mission is one that Ali has more than risen to. In that time, he has established his label SCI + TEC as a world renowned platform for his own music and that of a carefully curated list of talents old and new. He has also headlined every major club and festival in the world on a regular basis, has created his pioneering live Hybrid show and has earned a reputation as an artist right at the forefront of live performance and audio visual entertainment.
Though many believed Dubfire was crazy going it alone, the seminal success of his solo tracks like ‘Ribcage’, ‘Emissions’ and ‘Roadkill’ prove he has more than made his own way. Remixes of ‘Spastik’ by Plastikman, live shows from LA to Barcelona, Washington to Womb have continued to prove the point and for the last two years, and his HYBRID live concept has been wowing crowds everywhere. Created with the aim of reinventing the concert experience and combining overlapping screen projections, a mind-blowing array of strobe lights and a powerful 2D and 3D visual framework, the show has seen Ali incorporate the latest advancements in technology to deliver an out of this world live display.
It is fair to say this show, a ground breaking combination of man and machine, science, art and technology, has proved the high point of Dubfire’s solo career. But all good things must come to and end and so in 2016, after two years of touring and to coincide with his decade at the top, it will cease to exist after some final showcases at Coachella, International Music Summit Ibiza, Dockyard Festival, Movement and more to be announced.
Dubfire will also celebrate 10 years at the top as a solo artist in 2016, and though this first chapter of Dubfire’s solo career is almost done and dusted, the man himself, as ever, continues to look forwards. As such you can expect him to unveil some new and exciting projects in the near future, whilst he is also being honoured with the release of a new movie about his life and career, with a trailer available here: https://vimeo.com/122099244.

Dave Clarke Presents The Dirty Dozen at Amsterdam Dance Event 2016
Luke Slater & Ø [Phase], Marcel Fengler, Miss Kittin and many many more confirmed for Dave Clarke Presents during ADE.
There are three things certain in life: death, taxes and the fact that living techno legend Dave Clarke is the first one to unveil his night at Amsterdam Dance Event. After eleven splendid editions of Dave Clarke Presents at The Melkweg in Amsterdam, the Briton is back with “The Dirty Dozen’: 12 years of Dave Clarke Presents, 12 DJ’s cranking up the pace and 12 hours of bass madness. Friday, October 21st the Baron is going all out with yet another astonishing line-up, with the likes of Luke Slater & Ø [Phase], Marcel Fengler, Miss Kittin, Tommy Four Seven, Rebekah, Black Asteroid, Louisahhh and others. The pre-sale for this night will start on May 5th, 10 AM (CET) via Ticketmaster and Melkweg.nl.
Planetary Assault Systems, The 7th Plain, Clementine; they’re all just a fraction of the many, many monikers of dj/producer Luke Slater. The Readingite is after all these years still an unstoppable force who left quite the impression with the intense ‘Hama Static’ track on Ostgun Ton’s ‘Zehn’. Slater found his soulmate last year in the form of fellow Englishman Ø [Phase]. Although they haven’t performed that often together yet, just listen to their NTS Radio mix to get a taste of all the goodness that’s about to happen in October.
A headliner in his own right: Germanic hero Marcel Fengler joins the bill. As one of Berghain’s first dj’s, Fengler is a ubiquitous crowd favorite, largely in part due to his almost kaleidoscopic form of techno, shifting constantly between its ambient and dynamic side. Being one of the more sought after dj’s, the dj/producer has seen the likes of Awakenings and Time Warp, but also Tomorrowland and Lowlands Festival.
If Clarke’s new club night ‘Whip It’ at Melkweg proved something, it would be that electro is back, more than ever. So who better to invite than the one and only Miss Kittin? Especially since buddy The Hacker left nobody standing last year, it’s up to the Kittin to crack that whip some more. Everyone who’s seen the Miss knows she’s all about the more glitchy side of techno with more than just a hint of electro. She’ll dare you to move and groove and beat you with a hit if you don’t.
You like your techno rough and just a bit faster than usual? Look no further than Briton-turned-German Tommy Four Seven, he will get those limbs pumping. The celebrated dj and producer is without a doubt one of techno’s leading men who can also fall back on an almost enviable discography. Releases on Speedy J’s Electric Deluxe, Chris Liebing’s CLR, Stroboscopic Artefacts; he’s done them all. To see Tommy live is to be part of a delightful relentless type of techno experience that will have you sweating faster than a nominee shareholder from Panama.
And we’re just getting started. The little lady of techno Rebekah will be part of the Dave Clarke Presents night as well. Though she may be little of stature, Rebekah has made a steady rise to the top of the techno industry. No small feat for the woman who’s live reputation rivals her own EP’s. Listen to the versatile works of ‘Distant’, ‘Beginnings’ and ‘Elements’ and you´ll find both sensible and fierce sides of Rebekah. And if it’s fierce you want, don’t miss out on Black Asteroid. Bryan Black (half of the enigmatic MOTOR) gives credit to his last name with a particular brand of techno meets acid, devoid of much color. Some dark themes that are no stranger to Bromance adept Louisahhh. The French dj/producer has been Brodinski’s mainstays on his label for many years, and just when things started to get a little bit quiet, she hit back with the mesmerizing ‘Shadow Work’ EP that’s filled to the brim with raw, dark beats and astute lyrics.
No Dave Clarke Presents is complete without a delegation from the Low Countries. Clarke found them: Flemish techno star Charlotte de Witte will show what the buzz is all about, Estroe is present and can call herself a label boss since the inception of Rosedale Records last year, and last but not least: Clarke’s Unsubscribe buddy Mr. Jones joins the quite impeccable line-up.
Tickets:
On sale May 5th (10 AM CET). An exclusive pre-sale will run from May 3rd (10 AM) until May 5th (10 AM) for frequent buyers of the earlier Dave Clarke presents nights.

The techno pioneer and icon, responsible for the popularization of electronic music and the genre’s numerous technological innovations, has been collaborating with Exit’s production team since last October on all creative and technical details, which will soon be announced on a global level. The arrival to the world famous mts Dance Arena on 9 July has also been confirmed by the British DJ sensation Hot Since 82, while the lineup for Friday 8 July has been strengthened by the artist featured on Resident Advisor’s top five, the Scottish DJ and producer Jackmaster. The next generation of popular producers will be represented by London’s club duo MANT.
Richie Hawtin is the key figure of modern electronic music, a true innovator and the one of the founders of the central techno label Minus, but also legendary Plus 8. In 2014, Hawtin resurrected his famous alter-ego Plasticman and released a new album – “EX”, which also became his first release since 2003. A true revolutionary, Hawtin is responsible for the popularization of techno music, as well as the development of tech tools used by contemporary leading DJ superstars, and has, together with the company “Allen & Heath”, recently created a new type of mixer which many believe will cause yet another revolution on the DJ scene.

8 Amazing Experiences To Make You Fall In Love with EXIT Festival
From a fairytale venue to parties ‘till dawn, this is why EXIT festival won so many awards. Held from 7 - 10 July, it’s nothing short of spectacular:
1.A magical venue: Petrovaradin Fortress
The fortress has that magical fairytale atmosphere that gets people hooked and relaxed. It’s arguably the best festival venue according to dozens of quotes from its top performers and global media covering Exit since its founding 16 years ago. Not only are the stages well sonically isolated, but everything is close by so you don’t have to walk that much or wait in long cues.
This Southeastern European gem is an oldie but goldie. The first cornerstone was built in 324 years ago and the fortress was upgraded over time. In its heyday, it was the central place where the Austrian-Turkish war ended, and the battle resembled a scene from the movie 300: about Austrian 76,000 troops at the fortress versus the 150,000 Turkish troops. Spoiler alert: the Austrians won.
Today, the fortress is a much calmer affair. Until those special 4 days in July arrive. About 200.000 music lovers storm its gates for the best festival experience in Europe.
There was even an episode on Ghost Hunters International that went down into the fortress’ catacombs. Spoiler alert: it’s not haunted.
2.The Iconic, Historic, Unapologetic: Dance Arena and The Sunrise
The world famous Dance Arena is hallowed ground. Waiting for the sunrise at the colossal trench is described by many as the most endorphin-inducing rush they’ve experienced ever. And that’s quite an achievement.
This is EXIT’s second biggest stage, but the passion of its diehard fans is rivaled by none. The trick with Dance Arena is that it closes last. At 8am! Yes, that's 8am! Literally, this is the last-standing stage at EXIT, where the party starts at the evening, and ends in the morning light well after the last day ended. People who love it, REALLY LOVE IT.
Dance Arena had some of the most explosive acts by world famous performers, including: Carl Cox, David Guetta, Richie Hawtin, Martin Garrix, Laurent Garnier, Underworld, Hardwell, Disclosure, Dixon, Loco Dice, Carl Craig, Green Velvet, John Digweed, Fatboy Slim, Dubfire, David Morales, Deep Dish, Chromeo…
The main acts for EXIT 2016 revealed for now are: Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Nina Kraviz Marco Carola, Nicky Romero, Mind Against, Robin Schulz, Solomun, Dave Clarke, Disciples...
3.Soak your feet at the campsite beach - in a good way!
The camp is located on the Danube river. That means sand beach, water mixed with generous amounts of sun in summer. Imagine waking up late in the day, getting out of your tent, and after a few steps you’re already cooling your worn-out-from-dancing feet in the smooth Danube? Yeah. It’s as good as it sounds.
4.Chilled walks at the Danube quay
Again with the Danube. But you’ll be hard pressed to find any better place to take a relaxing walk and enjoy the view of the fortress. The quay becomes electrifyingly good during EXIT, with a lot more folks walking down Novi Sad’s lush scenery. This is the best place to get a feel for Novi Sad’s locals - sit back on a bench, open up a beverage, and enjoy people-watching.
5.Cafes turn into mini-oasis during the day
When you wake up after a good night at EXIT, there are a million cafes in Novi Sad, ready to welcome you home. Coffee culture is sacrosanct in Novi Sad, and you can find a good brew anywhere. Sip on a cup in the city centre garden cafes and enjoy the cool breeze and shade.
6.Belgrade - visit the New York of the Balkans
It’s closer than you think. Belgrade is Serbia’s capital city and many reffered to it as Balkan's New York, due to its vibrant lifestyle, and with it come all the clubs, culture, and monuments. This is your best bet to visit Belgrade, since it’s only about an hour away. Plus, train returning tickets are around 4€ so that’s great too.
7.Rakija – Connecting people
Forget plain Vodka (which is made of potatoes) because you’ll fall in love with the Serbian spirits made from local fruits, called rakija. There are multiple varieties, but all promise the same: they all have a delicious scent but are as strong as a frenzied, rabid mother bear protecting her baby cubs. Drink responsibly and don't forget to intake plenty of water along.
8.EXIT on the sea (and best European beach) - Sea Dance Festival
Sea Dance festival is EXIT’s sister festival at, you guessed it, sea! Held at the breathtaking Jaz beach in Montenegro, proclaimed as the Best European Beach by the Lonely Planet, it is a long turquouise cove with plenty of sand and tiny pebbles with a Blue Flag for its fine, clean sea and all the necessary facilities. Sea Dance is a true summer festival with lots of sunshine, warm seas and the finest acts you can get. The best part? It’s included in the EXIT Magic Adventure package! You go to EXIT, have fun, then two days later hop down to Sea Dance for vacation. It’s an ideal way to spend your summer, at this one-of-a-kind festival holiday.
The EXIT Magic Adventure 2016 lineup so far includes: Ellie Goulding, Wiz Khalifa, Bastille, The Vaccines, Tinariwen, Sigma, Stormzy, Modestep DJ set, Cock Sparrer, Anti-Flag, At the Gates, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Disciples, Wilkinson DJ Set feat. MC AD-APT, Solomun, Nina Kraviz, James Zabiela, Nicky Romero, Marco Carola, Hurts, Skrillex, Zomboy, My Nu Leng, Lost Frequencies, with more acts coming up soon.
