Inaugural Indian edition of ADE’s touring platform attracts 8000 visitors.
After a third night full of performances by India’s finest artists and labels and international top talent, ADE Global Sessions Mumbai is officially a wrap. For three days (April 7-10) the global and Indian dance community met in Mumbai during business discussions, fully packed networking sessions and though provoking industry presentations in the day and a top-notch showcase program in the night that attracted 8000 visitors.
Connecting the electronic music scene
Throughout the day program our delegates discussed the ins and outs of the electronic music scene in India and Asia, during inspiring talks with representatives of companies and events like Saavn, Livescape Asia, Bookmyshow, Burning Man, Twitter, BMI, Percept Live, Universal Asia, Sunburn, Boom Festival, OWSLA, Viacom 18, MGMH, Unmute, OML, The Windish Agency, V.A.L.I.S. Studio’s, Hit The Ground Running and many others. The day program of ADE Global Sessions Mumbai – part of ADE’s on-going commitment to connect dance culture globally – has sold out.
Delegates and speakers alike stressed the positive impact of the event. “It is really amazing to see the work ADE is doing to connect and exchange information to advance the electronic music scene in Asia,” said speaker Artur Mendes from Boom Festival in Portugal during a panel discussion. “I am here to learn from you,” said Sam Hunt, manager of Major Lazer, Diplo and many other acts, to the audience.
ADE Global Sessions Mumbai, organised with hosting partner Percept Live and ticketing partner Goeventz, set up many new business relations and connections – with both the audience and official speakers all equally involved in passionately sharing experience and information to help each other evolve within the industry.
Talent meets established
The talent program at ADE Global Sessions Mumbai was met with equal enthusiasm. Our Tech Lab room, with master classes by Indian top DJ’s like Arjun Vagale, Nucleya, Lost Stories, Bit of Both and many others, companies like Ableton, Pioneer and Native Instruments and international acts like Wiwek, What So Not and Kill The Noise, was packed with upcoming producers and DJ’s from start to finish, as were the demo listening and networking sessions with our national and international delegates.
Remix competetion
Impressed by the quality of the music, panelist and Tech Lab host Andrew T. Mackay announced a remix competition for all producers attending our event, offering a spot on the upcoming remix album of his Bombay Dub Orchestra. The winning track will be mastered at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London whom Andrew represents in India through his company Bohemia Junction.
DAY and NIGHT highlights
Highlights of the night program included the opening performance by Perfectiming, a packed free block party at Phoenix Courtyard and blazing sets by Arjun Vagale, Nucleya, Ankytrixx and many others.
Highlights of the day program also included a mind-blowing visual presentation by V.A.L.IS.’ head of studio Peter Martin, renown thought leader on the future of entertainment, on virtual reality, the advancement of technology and electronic music festivals in 2026, a passionate keynote on dance and social responsibility by Sunburn’s inceptor Shailendra Singh, a moving tribute to India’s electronic music pioneer Charanjit Singh and a Q&A with general manager Blaise DeAngelo of Skrillex’s label OWSLA and his artists Kill The Noise, What So Not and Dutch sensation Wiwek.
