 The 21^st edition of KaZantip Republic will take place from 31 July – 14 August 2013, welcoming thousands upon thousands of ‘Z-citizens’ along with the greatest musicians, DJs and tastemakers of the global electronic music scene. It’s not easy to describe KaZantip Republic to someone who has never visited, so before the event begins we’ve compiled a handy a-Z to piece the puzzle together as we reveal the complete line-up for 2013.

Apotheosiz
The official opening ceremony of KaZantip Republic ‘Apotheosiz #1’ takes place on Saturday 3 August with guest artists including Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos, The Martinez Brothers, Moderat and Booka Shade.

 Beats
Electronic music is the beating heart of the KaZantip Republic. From house to techno, drum & bass to breaks, there’s something to please even the most discerning music lover.

Croissant
This year the Croissant stage (incidentally shaped like a Croissant) will play host to a Flying Circus Showcase with Audiofly, dOP, Blond:ish and Tiefschwarz, Apollonia with Dyed Soundorom, Shonky and Dan Ghenacia and Circo Loco with Ellen Allien, Davide Squillace, Matthias Tanzmann and The Martinez Brothers.

D is for
Diynamic, Drumcode and Dirtybird, just a handful of label showcases at KaZantip this year.

East meets West
Russian superclub Propaganda showcases the sounds of Mr. G, Mark Broom, Sapunov and Sergey Sanchez, plus Romania’s finest, Raresh, Rhadoo and Petre Inspirescu step up for the [a:rpia:r] showcase.

Fast-Married
One of the long-time traditions at KaZantip Republic, ‘Fast-Married’ gives citizens who fall in love with each other the chance to marry in the sky on 03, 07 and 09 August.

Games
From the very beginnings of KaZantip riding the waves has been at the centre of the celebrations, and the annual KaZantip Z-Games celebrates this tradition. This year the Z-Games commence on August 14 for 6 days of kitesurfing, wakeboarding, parkour and more.

Hymn
KaZantip tradition decrees that each and every year there will be a new hymn or ‘KaZantip Anthem’. Please stand while listening to the KaZantip Anthem.

Innervisions
On 9 August Innervisions will introduce their trademark house grooves to the KaZantip Z-citizens, when Dixon, Âme (live), Mano Le Tough and Marcus Worgull get behind the DJ booth.

Jack
Get ready to jack at Apotheosiz #3 as the Dirtybird crew take over the Croissant with Claude VonStroke, Zombie Disco Squad, Leroy Peppers and the Jack man himself – Breach.

Kitesurfing
The sun is shining, the sea is swinging and the wind is always blowing strong enough for the Republic’s national sport of Kitesurfing.

Life with no pants
KaZantip Republic exists in a parallel reality according to the PreZident’s ideas: ‘summer all year round’ and ‘life with no pants’.

Mars
‘Live on Mars’ returns for 2013, running for 9 days in August on the Faberge dance floor and showcasing an impressive selection of live artists, including Berlin-based electro/indie punk band Bonaparte.

 No sleep
Dance beneath the stars as darkness falls and follow the music as night turns to day. Don’t miss Life And Death on 5 August with Tale of Us, Clockwork and Thugfucker and continue the party on 6 July as Jamie Jones and friends Lee Foss, Art Department and Richy Ahmed present PARADISE.

One Nation
The PreZident will take to the main stage to address his Great Nation during ‘Apotheosiz #1’ before a giant fireworks display.

 PreZident
The KaZantip Republic is a (former) democratic republic headed by a tyrannical president. In the presidential election held once a year, the PreZident successfully re-elects himself, thus ensuring continuity of the totalitarian democratic power.

Question – What Is KaZantip?
Answer – Whatever you think, KaZantip is not what you think of it.

Sunset
Sunset is one of the most magical times during KaZantip. Z-Citizens gather by the sea where millions of yellow balloons ascend to the skies and the long shadows grace the hot sands. Then everyone applauds. That’s how the evening at KaZantip begins.

Techno
Techno reigns in 2013 with Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Cassy, Marcel Dettmann, Adam Beyer, Anja Schneider, Alan Fitzpatrick, Sebo K and many, many more.

Utopia
Utopia – perhaps the most fitting description of KaZantip.

Viza
Despite what you might think, KaZantip is not a festival. In actual fact, KaZantip is a stable (former) democracy with its own Constitution that guarantees rights and freedoms to every citizen. You’ll need a ‘Viza’ to enter

X marks the spot
All of the action takes place on the beautiful Black Sea coast of the Crimean peninsula – beautiful sandy beaches and crystal clear waters all drenched in sunshine.

Yellow Suitcases
Each year hundreds of Z-citizens are granted special entry to KaZantip with their Yellow Suitcase creations. Suitcase builders celebrate the annual National Day of the Yellow Suitcase with a parade on the beach and the National Yellow Suitcase Awards.

Z-CITY “A real alternative to reality”
For the first time this year, the government made the decision create the Z CITY where citizens can live from July 31. There will be no skyscrapers but you can bring your own tent, live on a beach and enjoy the view of Mars.
