The Garden Festival’s 7th year is a huge success. New location in Tisno stuns a sell-out crowd for yet another glorious week in the sun

The 7th Garden Festival in Croatia concluded on Wednesday 11th July, after a full week of sun-kissed blissful holiday fun on the stunning Adriatic coastline. In its brand new home of Tisno, the festival attracted people from all over the world to this beautiful coastal region to savour a stellar lineup including Nicolas Jaar, Kenny Dope, Norman Jay, Dyed Soundorom, 2020 Soundsystem, Pillow Talk, Yesking, Tim Sweeney, Jose Padilla, and many more.

The Garden Tisno has a bigger main stage and a stunning curved beach for sun-worshippers, with the Tiki Bar on one jetty and the Beach Bar at the far end, where music ran from midday to 2am. Twice daily the legendary Argonaughty boat parties docked here, charting a course across the region’s warm azure waters, with European club and label hosts taking over the salty old sea dog. With apartment accommodation and luxurious Shikar tents on site and more space to explore, there’s more of a festival feel to The Garden Tisno. The town itself offers many restaurants, shops and bars, the town split onto the mainland and the island of Murter, which enchanted those who explored its narrow back streets and secluded beaches during the week.

The fully open-air Barbarellas club hosted a series of all night long parties, with incredible scenes each morning as the sun came up to light up a beautiful venue nestled by the shoreline. The Resident Advisor event on Saturday night, with Tiger and Woods and Axel Boman, had 700 feverish people demanding one more tune after 6am in what is widely regarded as a truly special moment in the festival’s growth; retaining the Garden’s unique sense of family and intimacy, it really felt as though something different was taking place in Tisno, with a sense of unity creating joyous scenes on the beach, at the main stage and the club through the week.

Nick Colgan, one of the festival’s founders, says that: “We are all so happy that our first year at The Garden Tisno has gone so well. Everyone loves the location, and the new Barbarellas club has had amazing feedback with people packing it out at sunrise. We have actually has several bookings for 2013 during the festival, so we think that is a good sign! It’s been a lot of hard work to get set up here, but the feedback has been great. Tisno feels like home already and we are now looking forward to the rest of the season here and then of course next year is on the agenda too. We will also have news soon of a new project taking place in the Philippines in 2013, called The Tropical Garden. It’s a very exciting development, and more news is coming soon.”

The dates for The Garden Festival in 2013 have already been confirmed, with the 8th Garden Festival taking place Weds 3rd – Weds 10th July.

Further information for The Tropical Garden will come later this summer.
